00:08of following in the footsteps of the club's most famous export, Scott Pendlebury.

00:20For his mum Lisa, it's been business as usual in her job as an aged carer this week, helping
00:26run the home's tipping competition.
00:27I would be the most competitive, although I'm not winning.
00:30I'm losing by three to Ken.
00:32Well, I knew who Scott was long before I came in here.
00:36He's really good.

00:39His dad Bruce remembers his son as an outstanding junior sportsman, with a bit of a rebellious
00:44edge.
00:45He was a naughty little boy.
00:46At certain times he was a delight, but yeah, he was a pretty driven little boy.
00:52But despite all of Scott Pendlebury's football achievements, it was basketball that was his
00:56first love.
00:57And his childhood coach says he could have gone all the way.
01:01He was part of the best boys team Sales ever had and we went on to win a lot of
01:07titles
01:07over the years.
01:08After representing Victoria and Australia as a junior, Pendlebury won a basketball scholarship
01:13to the AIS.
01:15But shortly after arriving, he phoned his mum to say he wanted to play football.
01:19And she drove to Canberra for an emergency meeting with his coach.
01:23Scott told him what he was feeling and we basically said whatever you want to do, that's
01:28fine.
