Hong Kong halts trading, closes schools due to Typhoon 'Koinu'

Hong Kong halts stock trading and closes schools on Monday, Oct. 9, 2023 due to heavy rain from Typhoon Koinu. The storm weakened to a severe tropical storm as it headed toward China's Guangdong province. The Hong Kong Observatory issued a black rainstorm warning for about six hours before downgrading it at 10:30 a.m. (0230 GMT).
