00:00 Good morning, my name is Phil Hewitt, Group Arts Editor for Sussex Newspapers. Lovely
00:06 this morning to be speaking to a policeman. Now Josiah, you are going to be part of the
00:12 cast for the new Theatre Royal Panto this Christmas and the stage show is a land in.
00:17 And you're going to be a goody this time after being banished.
00:20 I am, I'm going to be a goody this time. I'm the policeman, I'm the authority this year.
00:26 I've got to make sure that everything in, you know, it all goes well. But normally I'm the baddy.
00:32 Normally I get to be the villain.
00:33 Are you going to be good at making sure it all goes well?
00:36 Probably not, knowing me, because I mean as a baddy it never normally goes well anyway.
00:43 So I'm sure if I'm the authority in this show it's going to be absolute chaos.
00:51 Now the really intriguing thing is this is your second Panto, but your two Pantos couldn't
00:56 possibly be more different in terms of location. Where were you last year?
01:00 Well it's weird. My second Panto, the first one I did was Aladdin, this one I did Aladdin,
01:08 but that one I did in Abu Dhabi in the Middle East. And that was a completely different crowd.
01:15 It was still brilliant, it's still amazing. But yeah, a Middle Eastern Panto, that was my first.
01:22 What sort of temperatures do you get in the Middle East at Christmas time?
01:25 Oh I tell you what, it is like 30 degrees. Now me, right, as me, right, I'm built like a fridge.
01:33 I'm going to be honest with you, I am, okay. And I tell you what, like doing Panto in a full cloak
01:39 out in 30 degree heat, basically in the desert, it was an experience. And I was knackered by the
01:48 end of it, but it was one amazing time. You'll be more comfortable in Portsmouth this Christmas then?
01:57 Yes, way more comfortable. I mean, but to be honest, I'm down here now in Portsmouth,
02:01 you know, chatting with everyone and I'm still sweating and really hot. So to be honest...
02:06 That's something I don't want to know actually.
02:07 But well, you know, this is it. This is new theatre royal pantomime, you know,
02:13 you get in what's given, do you know what I mean? Like, we don't know what's going to happen.
02:17 We don't know what's going to come out our mouths. We just hope that...
02:19 Fantastic. Well, it's always a fantastic Panto there and look forward very much to seeing you.
02:24 Great to speak to you. Good luck.
02:26 Thanks very much. Thank you. It'll be good. Yeah. Thank you. We look forward to seeing you.
02:30 Thank you. Bye bye.
