A man has been interview under caution following a large protest outside the shop.

Met Police were called Peckham Hair and Cosmetics after a physical altercation took place between a male employee and a female shopper.

The video of the altercation has gone viral, leading to protests in Peckham.

00:06 an incident at a Peckham shop which resulted in a large protest yesterday afternoon. Several
00:12 hundred people gathered outside Peckham Hair and Cosmetics in Rye Lane after footage circulated
00:19 online showing an altercation in the store in which a man can be seen holding a woman
00:25 by the neck after she hit him over the head with a basket. Protesters gathered outside
00:31 the store on September 12th writing signs that read 'Protect Black Women' and 'We
00:36 Are Not Your Prophet' among others. When police arrived at the store on September 11th,
00:44 the 31-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assault and was later bailed pending further
00:50 inquiries. Police said they attended the premises after being called at 1.16pm to report of
00:57 the woman attempting to steal items and an employee preventing her from leaving. Now
01:05 a Met spokesman has said a 45-year-old man has been interviewed under caution earlier
01:11 on September 13th.
