00:00 Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene told a crowd on Thursday that she would
00:04 vote against any government funding bill unless the House holds a vote to open an impeachment
00:09 inquiry into President Biden.
00:11 The Georgia rep was speaking at a local town hall and laid out the other conditions on
00:15 her vote as well, including eliminating funding for Ukraine, withholding funding for, quote,
00:21 Biden's weaponization of government, and eliminating coronavirus-related mandates, which have largely
00:26 already been rolled back, according to The Hill.
00:29 A White House spokesperson bashed the speech, saying, quote, "The last thing the American
00:33 people deserve is for extreme House members to trigger a government shutdown that hurts
00:38 our economy, undermines our disaster preparedness, and forces our troops to work without guaranteed
00:44 pay."
00:45 The deadline to fund the government is on September 30 to avert a government shutdown.
