00:16 We are speaking through this program of this month of Muharram-ul-Haram,
00:22 the journey of Imam Hussain's life. The situation is getting worse.
00:32 We have mentioned your childhood, beautiful incidents of your childhood,
00:38 moments of youth and youthfulness.
00:41 And in yesterday's program, you have heard a few words from me on the spiritual aspect of Imam Hussain.
00:52 Today we will talk about your departure from Medina.
00:57 What was the situation that led you to travel from Medina to Mecca?
01:05 Then you left for Karbala from Mecca.
01:09 Medina is the city which is the center of the eyes of the people of love.
01:16 No one can imagine the love that Imam Ali Muqam can have for this city.
01:25 The city of his grandfather is the burial ground of Sayyeda-e-Kainat,
01:32 Imam Hassan Mujtaba is buried there in Jannat-ul-Baqi.
01:37 The love that Imam Hussain had for the city of Medina,
01:43 can be estimated from the time of departure from Medina.
01:51 We will go to this background.
01:54 After the martyrdom of Hazrat Maulay-e-Kainat,
02:01 Hazrat Muawiyah took control of the mosque.
02:07 And as my master said, the Ummah moved from Khilafat to Monarchy.
02:15 And the circumstances and events are recorded in history.
02:21 No one was happy.
02:23 The necks of Muslims were being cut, blood was flowing, there was a riot.
02:29 But Imam Hassan Mujtaba left the foundation of Khilafat for the greater good of the Ummah.
02:38 Hazrat Muawiyah took control of the foundation.
02:42 And he did a great service in terms of arrangement and security.
02:50 But as my master said, the era of Khilafat was over.
02:58 And Hazrat Muawiyah took control of the Ummah.
03:06 And the Ummah was in Monarchy.
03:10 No incident is a one-time event.
03:15 It has a very deep background.
03:18 Imam Hussain was also seeing all these events.
03:24 And the points of that agreement were also in front of you.
03:28 Which Hazrat Imam Hassan Mujtaba and Hazrat Muawiyah did.
03:34 But the situation was very complicated.
03:40 Therefore, Hazrat Muawiyah took control of the Ummah after 10 years.
03:49 That is, about 10 years before his death, he discussed the pledge of Yazid with his close companions.
03:59 And then he started taking the pledge.
04:02 And during that time, the people who had refused to take the pledge of Yazid,
04:08 One of them was Hazrat Imam Hussain.
04:12 Hazrat Abdullah bin Zubair was there.
04:15 Hazrat Abdul Rahman bin Abi Bakr was there.
04:17 And similarly, Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar was there.
04:20 They refused to take the pledge of Yazid.
04:25 But Hazrat Muawiyah did not take any kind of strictness or severity with them.
04:34 Time passed.
04:36 Then one day comes.
04:37 Hazrat Imam Hussain is in Medina.
04:41 The mosque of the Prophet is in the courtyard.
04:43 The Rauza-e-Anwar of the Prophet is in front.
04:46 It is the neighbor of Jannat-ul-Baqi.
04:48 You please come there.
04:50 Hazrat Abdullah bin Zubair is also sitting with you.
04:53 And this is the year 60 Hijri.
04:55 He was in a conversation with Hazrat Abdullah bin Zubair.
04:59 Meanwhile, the Qasid of Governor of Medina, Waleed bin Utbah comes.
05:03 And he comes and gives a message to Hazrat Imam Hussain.
05:07 That the Governor has called you.
05:10 You saw that the time was such that
05:14 the Governor did not call anyone at that time.
05:18 He did not meet anyone.
05:19 You were surprised.
05:21 You mentioned it to Hazrat Abdullah bin Zubair sitting next to him.
05:26 And then you said directly.
05:28 It seems that Hazrat Muawiyah has passed away.
05:34 And now Yazid will be crowned.
05:38 And we will be required to take his pledge of allegiance.
05:43 For this purpose, the Governor of Medina has sent a message.
05:46 This is your assessment.
05:48 It is telling what was your insight.
05:52 What was your wisdom.
05:54 How deep was your eye on the situation.
05:57 Rather, how much was the pulse of the situation in your hand.
06:01 You were seeing the situation, the events that were happening.
06:05 That is why you gave this assessment on the basis of it.
06:08 And then when you started going to the Governor of Medina,
06:12 you did not go alone.
06:15 Rather, you prepared 30 young men.
06:18 And took them along.
06:20 And they all went together and you told them that I will go inside.
06:25 If the voices start to rise and the situation starts to get tense,
06:31 then you go inside immediately.
06:33 So you went with Governor of Medina Walid bin Utbah.
06:37 Marwan bin Hakam was also sitting.
06:40 So he told you about the death of Hazrat Muawiyah.
06:45 And also said that you should take the pledge of allegiance to Yazid.
06:48 I have been told that you should take the pledge of allegiance to Yazid.
06:51 You asked what else has been told to you.
06:54 So he said that I have been told that I should call all the people of Medina and take the pledge of allegiance from them.
07:01 So Hazrat Imam Hussain said,
07:05 He said that a person like me who takes the pledge of allegiance to Yazid secretly,
07:11 neither gives my pride to waste,
07:14 nor fulfills the purpose for which you want to take the pledge of allegiance.
07:19 So when you take the pledge of allegiance from all the people of Medina in the general assembly,
07:24 then you should also take the pledge of allegiance from me at that time.
07:28 He was a gentle man.
07:31 And a peaceful man.
07:33 After listening to this, he became silent.
07:35 Marwan said to him that no,
07:37 take the pledge of allegiance from Hussain at this time.
07:41 And if you leave him,
07:45 lose this opportunity,
07:47 then you will never be able to control him.
07:50 Upon this, Imam Ali Mukam became enraged.
07:53 And he said that
07:56 can you force me to take the pledge of allegiance from a person like me?
08:01 This is not possible.
08:03 My veins have the blood of Ali Al-Murtaza.
08:06 I have been blessed by the Holy Prophet (saw)
08:10 and I have drunk the milk of the Master of the Universe, Fatimah al-Zahra.
08:14 I belong to that house,
08:16 to that family,
08:18 where the Prophet Gabriel used to come in every moment.
08:20 Where the revelation came,
08:22 from where the message of truth spread.
08:24 So will a person like me take the pledge of allegiance from a person like him?
08:29 This is your mistake.
08:31 So he stood up.
08:33 As he saw him standing,
08:35 Marwan said that
08:37 O Walid bin Utbah, you have a responsibility.
08:40 If I were there, I would have killed him.
08:42 Imam Ali Mukam (ra)
08:44 then became enraged.
08:46 His voice started to get louder.
08:48 He said, O Ibn Zarka,
08:50 will you kill me?
08:52 Do you have the courage and strength
08:54 to stand in front of me?
08:56 How can a false person stand in front of the truth?
09:00 He said these words.
09:02 And in the meantime, the voice had become louder.
09:05 And the soldiers who were standing outside,
09:07 they were also listening to the voice of Imam Ali Mukam (ra).
09:12 As soon as they heard, they entered inside.
09:14 Then they certainly saw the situation.
09:19 And the governor quietly said,
09:21 Imam Hussain (ra) left from there.
09:24 And when he left, he gathered the entire family.
09:28 Then he consulted them.
09:30 That these are the circumstances.
09:32 And your brother,
09:34 who was your father's brother,
09:36 Hazrat Muhammad bin Hanfiyah,
09:38 your brother,
09:40 he gave you a very good advice.
09:42 Imam Ali Mukam (ra)
09:44 who had left with his entire family
09:46 from Madinah to Mecca,
09:48 except for his brother,
09:50 Hazrat Muhammad bin Hanfiyah.
09:52 So he gave a very good advice.
09:55 He said, O brother,
09:57 the circumstances of those who have passed 10 years are also in front of you.
10:02 Just like the environment was created to take the oath of allegiance of Yazid,
10:07 that is also in front of you.
10:09 And it is your fate that you have been raised from such an enemy,
10:15 who has no morals,
10:17 nor does he have a character,
10:19 nor does he have any duty of enmity,
10:22 nor is there any duty of friendship.
10:24 That Yazid has been crowned.
10:27 Therefore, he will not let you live in peace anywhere.
10:31 It would be better for you
10:33 that you move from here
10:35 and choose a city
10:38 in which the majority of Muslims
10:41 love you.
10:43 And choose a city
10:46 which is not under the control of Yazid.
10:50 And it is possible that
10:52 your life will be made difficult there too.
10:55 Difficulties will be created for you there too.
10:58 So you will have to keep changing your homeland and city
11:02 so that you can get a place
11:05 from where you can fulfill the duty of Amr bil Maroof and Nahi anil Munkar.
11:11 Imam Ali Muqam, Imam Hussain (ra)
11:15 heard all these things of his brother,
11:18 which were based on deep advice,
11:20 which were based on deep insight.
11:22 He heard all these things
11:24 and agreed with them.
11:26 And he decided to leave for Mecca from Medina.
11:33 This was a very strange stage of life.
11:37 Leaving Medina.
11:40 Imam Hussain (ra)
11:42 comes to Jannatul Baqi.
11:44 Sayyeda-e-Kainat (ra)
11:46 comes to his mother's court
11:49 and presents his situation.
11:52 Then Imam Hassan (ra)
11:54 comes to the Rauza-e-Anwar of the Prophet (saw)
11:56 and presents his situation.
11:58 Then he comes to the Rauza-e-Anwar of the Prophet (saw)
12:00 and says, O Nana Jan,
12:02 your Ummah has now left me helpless and helpless.
12:06 I have to keep the truth
12:09 and to keep the truth,
12:12 I have to choose a city.
12:16 So, please give me permission.
12:19 I will not let any harm come to your teachings,
12:22 even if I have to give up my life for it.
12:25 You left from there.
12:27 The people who gave advice also said,
12:29 like Hazrat Abdullah bin Zubair,
12:31 you should also go to Mecca through a secret way.
12:34 He said, No.
12:36 Hussain will not go to Mecca through a secret way.
12:38 He will go through a known way
12:40 from Medina to Mecca.
12:42 If anyone has the courage,
12:44 he should come to Hussain's way.
12:46 So, you passed through a known way
12:48 and reached Mecca.
12:50 And when you left Medina,
12:52 on your blessed tongue,
12:54 there was this blessed verse of the Holy Quran
12:56 which Hazrat Musa (as) had read,
12:59 that
13:00 "Fa-yakhruju minha khwaifan yatarqabu"
13:04 that they had left that settlement.
13:06 They had a little fear
13:08 and a little heartache.
13:10 But they were on this hope.
13:12 "Qala Rabb-e-najjini minal qaumi-s-zalimeen"
13:15 O my Lord,
13:16 save me from the cruel people.
13:18 After reading this verse,
13:20 you left Medina.
13:22 With a burdened heart,
13:24 with tears in his eyes,
13:26 Hussain left Medina.
13:28 The journey of life is still going on.
13:30 Tomorrow, we will start again from here,
13:34 what happened after reaching Mecca.
13:37 With your own words,
13:39 allow me to say this.
