Born as Abdul Rashid Salim Salman Khan, Salman Khan is an Indian actor, film producer, tv host, philanthropist and singer.
1965: Born on 27th December, Khan is the eldest son of screenwriter Salim Khan and his wife Sushila Charak. Has four siblings: - Arbaz , Sohail, Alvira and Arpita.
1988: Debuted in Biwi Ho To Aisi in which his voice was dubbed by someone else.
1989-91: First leading role in Maine Pyar Kiya, one of India's highest-grossing films. Got Filmfare Award for this film. Starred in Baaghi which was a box office success.
1992-1993: Most of his films were a box office failure during this period.
1994-95: Khan starred in Andaz Apna Apna. The film was a flop but gained cult status over the years. Did Hum Aapke Hain Koun bagging 3 Filmfare Awards. Did Karan Arjun and was nominated for the Best Actor award at Filmfare Awards.
1996-2002: Khan acted in many movies. Some of the box office hits were -Judwaa, Pyar Kiya to Darna Kya, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Hum Saath Saath Hai and many more hit films. Khan was arrested for rash and negligent driving after his car ran into a bakery allegedly. Due to which one person died and three were injured.
2003: Starred in Tere Naam which is still considered his best work until now.
2004-06: Had many box office hits Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and No Entry. His lifelike statue was installed in Madame Tussauds museum in London. He was sentenced one year in jail for hunting of an endangered species and was later granted bail.
2007: Did Salaam E Ishq and Partner which were super hit and also appeared in the Hollywood movie, Marigold: An Adventure in India. He also spent a week in jail (Blackbuck hunting). Started a foundation which provides education and healthcare for the underprivileged in India called Being Human.
2008: All of his films failed to perform at box office. He also hosted 10 Ka Dum and got a best anchor award for it.
2009: A significant turning point in Kahn’s career. He starred in Wanted which earned him superhit status.
2010: Landed with the juiciest role of his career as Chulbul Pandey in Dabangg which opened to generally positive reviews and broke several box office records upon release and, thus, becoming the highest opening week grossing Bollywood film, highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2010, the fourth highest–grossing Bollywood film of all time. Hosted Bigg Boss 4 is still currently hosting it. The show got a very high rating. In 2010 People Magazine, India declared him sexiest man alive. w 2011: Khan’s first release this year was Ready which holds some box office records. He also produced Chillar Party and got a National Film Award for Children’s Film. He did Bodyguard which was a commercial success but was not well received by critics. He launched his own production company SKBH Production. etc
