Lithuanians do not want to see refugees
In the centre of Kaunas up to 400 people gathered, mostly young people, to Express their rejection of the government's policy towards refugees on the 17th of October. Brussels has allocated the quota of 750 people for Lithuania, but the protesters argue that Brussels will deceive them. Instead of 750 will arrive in 4-5 times more, because each refugee may demand to bring in his relatives. Lithuanians believe that not refugees escaping war will come, but those who seek a better life. I.e. economic refugees. They will not learn the Lithuanian language, culture and will remain strangers. In addition, residents of Lithuania believe that their country is poor enough tto contain and feed the refugees. With national flags, shouting "Lithuania - for Lithuanians", igniting tourches, the protesters marched through Central Kaunas. Everything was loud, but with no fights.
