Embattled ex-Guatemalan President Otto Perez Molina, who resigned yesterday evening after congress stripped him of impunity, has turned himself into the country's judicial system. An arrest warrant had been issued for Perez Molina by a federal judge. In his letter of resignation Perez continued to insist on his innocence in relation to pending corruption charges and his press offices attributed the congressional impunity vote to legislators' desire to win reelection in this Sunday's elections. teleSUR
