Heavy rains have caused flooding throughout Argentina, especially in the Buenos Aires and Santa Fe provinces. The pilgrimage site Lujan was also hit as local streets were turned into waterways. Small boats were used as transport, and rescue workers evacuated people from flooded homes. The Governor of the Buenos Aires province and presidential hopeful Daniel Scioli declared a state of emergency. teleSUR
