Bolivia Confident of Success in Maritime Dispute

A member of the Bolivian Maritime Commission that traveled to The Hague said that the outcome of the legal battle with Chile looks favorable. Spokesperson Carlos Mesa voiced his confidence in the International Court of Justice in The Hague to reach a just solution between the two countries. Bolivia argues that Chile promised the landlocked nation a route to the Pacific Ocean during direct negotiations between the two nations in the 1970s but never fulfilled that promise. teleSUR
