Cultura Latina- Mexico’s Fine Arts Palace and Argentina’s Evita Museum

Follow the music, admire the art, place yourself inside historic architecture, in Telesur's "Cultura Latina". In this week's program, host Mauricio Izquierdo introduces us to a cultural icon in Argentina and a cultural jewel in Mexico. We visit the Evita Museum in Buenos Aires, which displays the personal and political life of Eva Peron and her role in Argentina’s history. Unlike the Madonna movie, the museum presents Evita as an artist and political leader for women’s rights and social change. Moving on to Mexico City, we visit the Bellas Artes Palace Museum, one of the most important spaces in the country for exhibits, concerts and other artistic productions. The architecture of the fine arts palace reflects a decided European influence, while the murals and exhibits focus more on Mexico’s cultural heritage as part of Latin America, leaving European and United States domination behind. teleSUR
