A Palestinian ministerial committee in the Israeli-blockaded Gaza Strip announced plans on Sunday to refurbish the enclave's sole seaport to allow Palestinians to travel abroad. The Gaza Strip has been under an Israeli land and sea blockade since 2006 and its sole gateway to the outside world not controlled by Tel Aviv is the Rafah border crossing with Egypt, which has been almost entirely closed since October.
