Does a certain ubiquitous search engine have to answer to the UK legal system? Google, accused of secretly bypassing privacy settings on iPhones and other products by rival Apple, insists it doesn’t. The internet giant is adamant that the first group lawsuit in the UK against the Silicon Valley-based company must instead be brought in California. The digital economy blurs the borders of our nation states in more ways than one. Google is resisting, but will users’ search for privacy prevail?
