00:00Well, we can cross straight now to the Iranian capital to speak with our correspondent Reza
00:03Sayer. Reza, we're hearing reports of multiple blasts in Tehran this Thursday. What are you
00:09seeing? What are you hearing on the ground? Yeah, more of those explosions, huge blasts
00:16as this bombing campaign and these air raids continue for six days in a row here in the capital
00:23Tehran. And the complexion of these airstrikes, the complexions of these bombing campaigns are
00:31seemingly changing and raising a lot of questions because increasingly these airstrikes
00:38are targeting locations that have nothing to do with the military and the hostilities. And the
00:43latest airstrike was targeting Tehran's leading sports arena, the Azadi sports arena, around 11.30
00:53a.m. this morning, Tehran time, airstrikes hit Azadi sports arena in the eastern parts
00:59of the city. This is an arena that seats about 12,000 people. It used to host events and sporting
01:06events like volleyball, basketball, wrestling. This was built back in 1970 under the late
01:14Shah. It also housed the Ministry of Sports and Youth. And now it lays in ruins. A couple
01:20of hours ago, state media showing the ministry, the minister of sports going to the scene to examine
01:27the ruins. Again, this is the latest in a series of strikes that are targeting non-military targets.
01:35Over the past several days, we've seen government buildings being hit, police headquarters being
01:41hit, city halls being hit. These are locations that usually manage the affairs of a city, offering
01:48social services, health services, welfare services. So I think they're going to raise a lot of questions
01:55what the objective of these strikes are. And I think a lot of people are going to believe that
02:01with these strikes, perhaps the intention is to sow chaos in disorder. But again, Tehran's main
02:09sports arena, the Azadi sports arena, destroyed. In view of this widened scope of attacks,
02:16what's the atmosphere like on the streets of Tehran today, Reza?
02:22The atmosphere is quiet. It's tense. Obviously, these airstrikes are very unnerving. Most people
02:30have left. Tehran is a city of 10 million people. My impression is millions have left to the outskirts
02:38of the city, other cities, places that are simply not getting pounded by airstrikes. And one other
02:46troubling development is the death toll continues to go up. According to the Red Crescent Society,
02:51the death toll standing at more than 1,000 people killed, hundreds of those killed civilians.
