Enter Caroline Meredith (Ursula Andress), a ruthless, razor-sharp American hunter who has successfully survived nine rounds. For her tenth and final hunt, she is assigned Marcello Poletti (Marcello Mastroianni), a cynical, world-weary Italian victim who is equally clever and deeply exhausted by the game. To maximize corporate sponsorship payouts, Caroline plans to kill Marcello in front of the cameras at the historic Temple of Venus in Rome. However, as she closes in on her target, a complex game of romantic seduction, deception, and mutual distrust develops between the two killers. Neither can be sure if the other’s professions of love are genuine or merely a tactical distraction before pulling the trigger, leading to a suspenseful, hilarious battle of the sexes.
