And when it was over, America had no roadmap. No clarity. No strategy.

What it did get was a flood of insults, conspiracy theories, tariff fantasies, racist stereotypes, migrant panic, and election denial — wrapped in chest-thumping bravado and economic fiction.

Trump claimed tariffs created “no inflation.”
He attacked Ilhan Omar with baseless corruption claims.
He dismissed Somalia as “not even a country.”
He called migrants murderers and the mentally insane.
He repeated election fraud lies that were thrown out by over 60 courts.
And he offered zero solutions on healthcare, housing, education, or inflation.

00:00This is APT Opinion, and let me tell you this trait.

00:04The President of the United States just held a two-hour press conference

00:08that sounded less like a leader addressing a nation

00:11and more like a man arguing with reality itself.

00:16Why do I say that?

00:17There was no roadmap, no clarity, no strategy,

00:23just threats, insults, chest-thumping conspiracy talk and economic fantasy.

00:28This was a briefing from the President to mark his first year of being back in power.

00:34It was meant to show Americans how far they'd come and where they're headed.

00:40If anyone walked away from that press conference understanding where America is headed,

00:46congratulations, you understood more than the rest of us.

00:50And please, do leave a comment if you did.

00:53Many of you think Donald Trump is taking America in the right direction.

00:57But that press conference, wow, difficult to swallow.

01:02Stay with me.

01:03I'm going to focus one by one on some of the claims that Trump just made.

01:07What is necessary with tariffs?

01:09I don't know where there's a case even there,

01:11but we've taken in hundreds of billions of dollars,

01:14and if we lose that case, it's possible we're going to have to do the best we can in paying it back.

01:21I don't know how that's going to be done very easily without hurting a lot of people.

01:28But we're waiting for that case anxiously,

01:31and we have tremendous national security because of tariffs and tremendous income.

01:36You know, we have, and by the way, no inflation.

01:39So everyone said, oh, tariffs will cause inflation.

01:41We have no inflation.

01:42We have very little inflation.

01:44Biden had inflation, and he didn't do tariffs.

01:46We had a huge problem.

01:49We had, we have a 62% reduction in our trade deficit.

01:53So, Trump claims tariffs magically created no inflation

01:57and slashed the trade deficit by 62%.

02:01Hmm, does that sound like economic policy to you?

02:06To me, it sounds more like a fairy tale.

02:09Tariffs are taxes.

02:11When you tax imports, companies pass the costs to consumers.

02:16That's inflation.

02:18Every serious economist will tell you this.

02:21Trump also admits that there is a massive court case hanging over his tariff policy

02:26that could force taxpayers to refund to other countries hundreds of billions of dollars.

02:32In other words, he created a policy so reckless

02:36that Americans may end up paying for it twice.

02:39Trump calls it national security.

02:43In reality, it's economic roulette.

02:46Okay, watch this.

02:48Well, they come here and they become rich and they don't have a job.

02:52I was told that Ilhan Omar is worth $30 million.

02:55She never had a job.

02:57She's a crooked congressman.

03:00So here's another one.

03:02Somalia is not even a country.

03:05They don't have anything that resembles a country.

03:07And if it is a country, it's considered just about the worst in the world.

03:11Foreign policy, diplomacy, alien concepts to Trump.

03:16This is straight out character assassination.

03:20Trump falsely claims Representative Ilhan Omar never had a job and is worth $30 million.

03:25A claim with zero evidence.

03:27He calls her crooked without a single charge, case or conviction.

03:32Now, you may not agree with Omar's politics,

03:35but this sort of unhinged attack is not the way to take her down.

03:40If anything, it gives her more ammunition.

03:43Then he declares Somalia not even a country,

03:48dismissing an entire nation and its people.

03:50Stop for a moment and think about this.

03:53What if a bunch of countries got together and contributed $1 billion for Somalia

03:59to become a permanent member of Trump's Board of Peace?

04:03Look, it's technically possible in a world where we are seeing the impossible happening every day.

04:10I think Trump would recognize Somalia as a country pretty quickly then, don't you?

04:14This isn't leadership, it's racial dog whistling, it's basic bullying and it's beneath the office

04:22of the President of the United States.

04:25You know where the bullying is playing out as we speak?

04:29On the streets of America itself.

04:32If you're American, I want you to leave a comment on where you stand on this,

04:37on what's happening in Minnesota to you as citizens.

04:40Because what it looks like to the rest of the world is a police state.

04:46But here's what it looks like to Donald Trump.

04:49These are tough people.

04:54So this is what the people are trying to protect.

04:58Because all ICE wants to do is get them out of our country.

05:02Bring them to prisons and jails and mental institutions from where they came.

05:06That's all they want to do.

05:07They're patriots and they have to be abused by guys like Don Lemon, who's a loser, lightweight.

05:13Trump paints ICE as heroic warriors fighting an invasion of criminals while offering zero verified data.

05:22Now, maybe some ICE officers are great people.

05:26Maybe the US does need to resolve its immigration problems.

05:29But look at what the President is doing.

05:31He's lumping asylum seekers, migrants, refugees and undocumented workers into one violent caricature.

05:39Are they all criminals?

05:41No.

05:42Will they all get the same treatment from the Trump administration?

05:46Unfortunately, yes.

05:48He calls journalists losers.

05:50He calls critics agitators.

05:53This is classic authoritarian language.

05:56Dehumanize, demonize, distract.

05:59And notice what's missing.

06:01Any real immigration reform plan.

06:05The only button being pushed again and again is fear.

06:10To people who say this is what is needed to make America great again.

06:15Is this the America you dreamed of?

06:18Fear at home?

06:19No friends abroad?

06:21All allowed in here by an open border policy of the worst president in the history of our country.

06:27A man that didn't win the election, by the way.

06:28It was a rigged election.

06:30Everybody knows that now.

06:32And by the way, numbers are coming out that show it even more plainly.

06:35We caught him.

06:37We caught him.

06:38This is the same narrative that fueled January 6th.

06:42But where's the evidence?

06:43Trump lost more than 60 court cases.

06:46His own Justice Department found nothing.

06:49Republican governors certified the results.

06:52Yet here he is, again, repeating the same theory to the American people.

06:59This time he's not a candidate with an election to win.

07:02He's a sitting president.

07:04One who still can't get over a fight that he lost.

07:08One who has far bigger problems to tackle.

07:11Though Trump did seem to remember that after a while because he came back to talking about immigrants.

07:17These are real criminal, illegal aliens that in many cases they're murderers.

07:22They're drug lords, drug dealers.

07:26They're the mentally insane.

07:28Some of them who are brutal killers, they're mentally insane.

07:32Wow.

07:33Whatever happened to innocent till proven guilty?

07:37Whatever happened to America, the land of the free?

07:40This is not law enforcement.

07:41This is propaganda.

07:42Actually worse.

07:45In America, this is policy.

07:47Despite the fact that study after study shows immigrants commit less crime than native-born Americans.

07:54Why is Trump pushing the myth of a criminal invasion?

07:58Is it because fear wins votes?

08:01Because the easiest way to play a hero is to create an enemy out of nothing?

08:06Oh, but wait.

08:08Now he's got a new country to blame.

08:10Time for some more Somalia bashing.

08:12Somalia.

08:14A backward country.

08:16Probably the worst country.

08:17They say it's the worst country in the world.

08:19If it's a country.

08:19I don't even think it's a country.

08:20There's no organization.

08:23They don't have police.

08:24They don't have military.

08:26They don't have anything.

08:27Textbook racism.

08:28Wrapped in geopolitical ignorance.

08:30Wrapped in an outsized superiority complex.

08:33Look, Somalia is a UN-recognized sovereign nation.

08:38It has a government.

08:39It has armed forces.

08:40It has international partnerships.

08:42It may be smaller than you.

08:44It may be poorer than you.

08:46But nothing gives you the right to reduce an entire people to pirates and criminals.

08:51I'm starting to think the rest of the world needs to crowdfund the $1 billion and get Somalia into that border of peace.

08:59But let's not get distracted.

09:00That's actually what Trump wants.

09:02Because this is all strategy.

09:05It's to distract from the fact that prices are still high.

09:09That housing is still a nightmare.

09:11That school shootings still happen.

09:14That the Epstein files are still being suppressed.

09:18That press conference ran for over two hours.

09:22And what did America get?

09:24No healthcare plan.

09:26No housing policy.

09:27No education strategy.

09:29No climate roadmap.

09:30No inflation relief.

09:32Just name-calling.

09:34Racist stereotypes.

09:36Election denial.

09:37Tariff fantasies.

09:39Migrant panic.

09:40Personal vendettas.

09:42This was not a press conference.

09:44It wasn't even a political rant.

09:45It was a distraction.

09:46And even if you support President Trump, you have to admit, every day, every time he speaks, it's getting harder to believe what he says.
