00:00All right, we're back for touring the 313, and I kind of already been here, technically.
00:05I had an event that I came to outside of Michigan Central, but now we're going to take the party inside.
00:11They've done so much work. Decades of the building just not being used whatsoever, and then a ton of renovation, and now it is beautiful, as you can see inside and out.
00:22And really, it's just another chance for you to see some of the renovation and just beautification of Detroit as a city.
00:30Our first stop in Michigan Central Station is obviously for food and good vibes, because you know me, I'm going to eat something.
00:43And these donuts look too good not to stop, so they catch you right when you walk in.
00:48Hey, grab some donuts, grab some coffee. Okay, we will.
00:52We survived, we go do it right now.
00:53Yeah, let's go.
01:00It's crazy to think it went from this to what you see here. It's amazing.
01:07There's so many ways that you can experience this. I mean, weddings.
01:11So if anyone wants to propose to me right now, my finger is ready. Thank you.
01:15It's all about taking the old with the new. It looks like they're not only preserving, but maintaining what was once the old Michigan Central.
01:29Yeah, and you know, it's one of those things. The building had been covered with graffiti. You know, it was in disrepair.
01:36So instead of saying, hey, none of that ever happened, I love the fact that they kept it and kept the true nature of the building where it's at now.
01:44So you can see the beautiful, like, remodeling, but also see the history, too.
01:48Exactly. So why would you not want to come here? The bathrooms are tricked out.
01:52There's so much going on at Michigan Central Station, plus there's so many activations, and we were able to talk to Catherine about more.
02:02We have a monthly Friday night music series. We invite new and up-and-coming DJs, instrumentalists. It's a lot of fun.
02:10We usually have a pop-up chef, and it's a ton of fun.
02:13We have a exhibit, Tin and Ed. It's a New York-based art and design group that's developed an interactive, multi-sensory experience on the mezzanine at the station.
02:24Something that you should also come and, you know, bring your family to. It'll be installed through September.
02:30Michigan Central is an amazing building. It was amazing when it was built, but now seeing it completely restored, it's just incredible.
02:37So there's a lot of ways that you can touch it, whether it be a private event or coming to one of the activations or even one of the concerts in this amazing...
02:44Can you imagine seeing a concert in this hall?
02:46Oh, I definitely am coming for those Friday concerts, believe me. Plus, I will be getting married here. I'm stamping it on right now.
02:54Does your man know? Because you better text him and tell him to start saving now. That's...
02:59There you go.
02:59Okay, done. You want to check it out? MichiganCentral.com. We're touring the 313. You'll be able to see this.
03:05And if there's another place you want us to check out, let us know. And plus, we're going to be trying to see new labs. So stay tuned for that next video.
03:13You can check out all the old Touring the 313 videos and get more information at 105.1thebounce.com.
03:18And it's all powered by Michigan First Credit Union.
