00:00they were screaming over the microphone the enemies that it's a it's a ghost it's a ghost
00:04ship did you make any contact yeah maybe i'll leave that for the film haunted michigan terrifying
00:12tales well here we are once again the haunting season and joined by a none other than steve
00:17shipping steve of course before we get to your documentary we got to talk about your health
00:21because uh you've been a fight in the battle and winning by all accounts what's going on with you
00:27yeah yeah it's a little you know a little unexpected journey that took place uh you know
00:33got diagnosed with a certain type of cancer and uh never thought i'd be saying that you know
00:40so weird even saying it so it was pretty rough man it was uh it was a shock uh to
00:46say the least
00:47and it was very um very intense went through a ton of radiation uh chemo treatments and um
00:54you go through a lot of things you know with that you know i haven't i've been public about it
00:59but
01:00not really the downsides um a lot of infections hospitalizations um pretty scary moments you know
01:09uh i won't go into too much gruesome detail but things got pretty rough there they really did
01:14and um you know it's strange because you don't know not to go too much into it but it's strange
01:21when you go through something like that um it changes you in a lot of ways it changes everything
01:27you know everything is strange because you know let's face it the c word you know you don't you
01:31you wonder am i gonna live am i gonna die what's gonna happen um everything is weird you know even
01:39normal life is weird people will be talking about yeah you know next year we should but then
01:45you're kind of like is there a next year you know and then people are wanting to take more photos
01:51with
01:51you all of a sudden out of nowhere and you're kind of like are you doing that because you think
01:56you know it's a it's a lot of mind games and a lot of physical games but um beyond all
02:02that
02:03um i went through all the treatments um and then you have to wait a little while uh for them
02:08to do
02:09another pet scan uh to see if it was effective if not uh went through the pet scan head to
02:15shin
02:16and they determined that there's no evidence of disease at that time so it came back clear and then
02:22i do another one um either late december or early january and they keep checking you of course uh for
02:29a
02:29while i think for um all cancer patients uh five years until you're cured but uh they gave me good
02:36numbers you know basically they told me one doctor said 85 one doctor said 94 likelihood that it will
02:44not return that's great man that's awesome i'll take you know we we talked about this a couple days
02:49ago just kind of you know uh off the air and different things but uh man a lot of people
02:54are
02:54pulling for you of course and uh and i'm just i was really happy to to see all the news
02:59and ringing
02:59the bell and and all that stuff that's so great and now now you have to buy a whole new
03:03wardrobe it
03:04looks like huh it's ridiculous yeah i hate to do this but you know how much how much weight did
03:11you
03:11lose 130 pounds holy crap wow yeah yeah wow how do you feel all what was i doing being that
03:20big anyway
03:21you know what yeah this is one way to do it yeah yeah you you've lost a person how do
03:27you feel
03:29um good you know like i'm definitely feel better in that sense but i'm still also so it's a weird
03:36dichotomy like on one hand being you know losing that much you feel good um in a lot of ways
03:42and
03:42then the other hand losing it that fast makes you feel not that good and then recovering you know from
03:49all the radiation stuff you know like all that chemo brain is a real thing it's kind of a brain
03:54fog
03:55you know and sometimes you're like hey hand me that um you know the the thing they're like
04:02the broom yeah that with the whiskers you know i mean it's like weird moments like that and then
04:08sometimes you feel like your old self and then it's all over the place you know well i for one
04:13uh
04:13yeah yeah dude i for one i'm super happy that you're here of course so we've become friends over
04:18the last few years uh in in the world of paranormal and uh in the world of music as well
04:23and uh dude can can we i mean we don't have that we don't have a ton of time but
04:27can we tell the
04:28story i don't know if people know this or not maybe i'm speaking out of school but uh you and
04:32sid
04:32wilson uh go way back uh tell me about meeting him for the first time yeah so yeah me and
04:39sid wilson
04:39uh from slip now had become really good friends for a long time um god 20 years something like that
04:47so first time i met sid um i was in des moines iowa and i was on tour uh being
04:54tech nine and a bunch
04:55of guys on the hostile takeover tour the first one and um we're playing the velour ballroom in des
05:01moines so you know it was my first time playing there it's a really really cool place so i'm on
05:07the
05:07tour bus you know just kind of killing time uh waiting for the meet and greet stuff to start
05:12and uh these local guys just come right up on the bus you know and as you know when you're
05:18on tour the
05:18bus is kind of your home your house yeah people shouldn't ever just walk up on there and i don't
05:23know why it was unlocked but they did and i look at these guys you know and they're they've got
05:28this
05:28big old camera and they're waving it around and they're like yeah you know we're here with des moines
05:33and some weird name underground tv what's up you know and i'm just like oh god it's one of these
05:40local news station wannabe things that are always weird you know what i mean and i'm like well you
05:45know we get that all the time so i'm like okay and they're like putting the camera right in my
05:50face
05:50and they're like you're in des moines iowa what do you think about it i'm like oh you know i
05:55love
05:55des moines i got love for des moines that kind of thing and they're asking me some random questions
05:59and you know and this guy's got this big mullet in sunglasses and gold teeth and i'm like what is
06:05going on man and uh he's like uh so when you're in iowa what do you think about when you
06:11think of
06:11iowa and i said me personally i'd say the greatest metal band ever slipknot and he just gives me this
06:18like stink face and he's like you like them and i and it just triggered me and i'm like oh
06:24typical
06:25hometown haters right and i and i i said some things you know i said some things man i really
06:32went at this guy and i told him uh in expletives to get off the bus and uh he did
06:38you know they left
06:39you know and i was kind of like whatever went about my day did my show and all that stuff
06:44and then uh
06:45tech nine gets on stage he's the headliner and uh right off the bat he goes uh before i start
06:51the
06:52show i want to introduce you know my my boy sid wilson from slipknot and i'm like oh sid wilson
06:58is
06:58here that's amazing and then all of a sudden i see these goofy guys get on stage and i'm thinking
07:04well maybe they're just going to film sid coming out well then the guy takes off his hat sunglasses
07:09and his mullet wig and it's sid and i'm just standing there like well at least you said you liked
07:17the band
07:19yeah i did for sure it's just the other things i said you know and um so i'm kind of
07:25like well
07:25there goes that and all my friends were like bro are you you know how do you feel right now
07:29i'm like
07:29let's not talk about it whatever so uh when the show was over i'm back on the bus waiting for
07:35bus call
07:35and um sid pops on the bus and he walks right up to me and he's got my cd in
07:41his hand cd right you
07:42know 2004 and he goes this is the best shit strange music ever signed i want to work with
07:49you and then he just left and then you know a year later when i was in des moines i'm
07:54in a dressing
07:54room again playing there and uh somebody came up and said here sid's on the phone he wants you to
07:59come to his house tonight record a track and i did and then after that you know he went on
08:04tour
08:04with me actually once as my dj um which was crazy for me as a fan you know like turning
08:11around and
08:11just like seeing sid behind me and i'm like this is happening you know yeah so i i had to
08:17i had to
08:18have you relive that story just because uh you told it to me the other day and i never knew
08:21that about
08:21you and it's like well that's a pretty interesting story so everyone should hear about it so yeah he's
08:26a good dude very good dude that's awesome well the reason we want to talk of course this is haunted
08:31michigan uh a haunting on the saginaw river the gray ghost and you're going to debut that on
08:36saturday november 7th so a week after halloween uh so tell everybody about this now you were
08:41you you you were on this this ship for how long yeah we were on the ship for almost three
08:49months
08:49in total you know filming because we we go really hard man you know there's a couple of weeks of
08:55just
08:55shooting b-roll uh getting on a boat and uh driving around the ship getting it from every
09:00angle you know drone work all that stuff interviews um with everybody uh staff members
09:07um museum curators individuals that actually served on the edson in vietnam we flew out you
09:15know for interviews and uh one gentleman nick actually gave us a drove of eight millimeter
09:20film that he shot personally while serving on the edson in vietnam which we were able to incorporate
09:27in the film but of course you know the basis of all of this is the paranormal claims uh they
09:33contacted
09:33us actually and said you know we are experiencing and have experienced a ton of paranormal activity
09:40aboard the ship would you guys be interested you know and i started doing research there's articles
09:44about paranormal activity going back 10 years uh 15 years local media covering it and people from all
09:52around the world come to see this ship it resides on the saginaw river in bay city michigan and these
09:58people from around the world even have paranormal experiences and so we're thinking there's just too
10:04much here to not say yes i mean first of all being able to investigate a naval destroyer i've never
10:12done that you know i'm used to you know the creepy old houses and in old buildings and old town
10:18saginaw but
10:19this was something different you know and um and we just felt we had to at least go check it
10:24out and
10:24it did not disappoint and you were you were on the ship for three months um i don't know was
10:30this
10:30was this around your treatment or before or oh definitely before yeah i guess i should add that
10:37uh this this investigation actually was filmed a few years ago okay and uh things you know were so busy
10:44and hectic at the time um i hadn't got a chance to edit the film and this film it means
10:50a lot to us
10:51for a lot of reasons and i didn't want to start editing the film until i had the proper time
10:58to do it you know and we basically during covid that whole era we had filmed a ton of things
11:06but we couldn't get them out because as you know as people know with haunted saginaw what i do
11:11not with travel channel and all that but what i do here we we create a documentary film and we
11:17premiere it at the temple and that's the you know kind of the ritual if you will well because of
11:23covid
11:23we couldn't have a premiere until 2022 so that put us behind a couple of years so uh we had
11:30to kind of
11:31put out projects in the order that we needed to at the time so this one's been a long time
11:36coming
11:36how much um how much film do you think overall did you shoot i mean it's got to be hundreds
11:43thousands
11:43of hours huh terabytes yeah terabytes and terabytes of footage yeah that's the hardest thing about this
11:50is um filming that much and having to cut multiple thousands of hours down to two hours
12:01yeah is very difficult you end up cutting things that you can't believe you cut
12:08things that we you know we would talk about for a year afterwards like oh man wait till people see
12:13this and then later somehow you're going it doesn't fit there's not enough time well tell us something
12:19that you cut that's that people might have might be might be wow i don't want to give i don't
12:23want
12:23to give the movie away but what'd you cut what are we what are we not going to see um
12:27things that got
12:28cut were um injuries on the ship you know i slashed open my hand at one point uh really bad
12:36you know
12:37just kind of the you know moments where you realize it's dangerous filming in a location like that
12:43because of all the stairs and all the metal and and and uh being in the dark um tons of
12:50evps you know
12:51we i mean there's probably at least 300 400 that won't make it into the film because there's just not
12:55enough time um different pieces of evidence uh some interviews that couldn't make it just because
13:02you have to kind of prioritize things and then there were other issues with this film in particular
13:08uh there was a buzzing on the ship you know the electrical system and it really messed with our
13:14lavalier microphones and um so some interviews that were wonderful excellent great people great content
13:23important information couldn't use it you know um and even being in a giant steel ship like that
13:31you also run into other interference you know the microphone gets a little too far from you know the
13:37receiver whatever um it it cuts in it cuts out it cuts in it cuts out and we're thinking man
13:44this
13:44isn't usable so there's a lot of stuff um but that being said honestly in my opinion this ranks up
13:53in
13:53the top three of all the films i've ever done um it's very to me to me it is uh
13:59to my crew it is
14:00we only showed it to a select group of people you know close people didn't even tell them what we
14:07wanted them to come over for we just said hey would you mind coming over you know blah blah blah
14:11sat them down and just hit play you know that way there's no expectation nothing and when it was
14:18said and done you know we had a list of questions and one of them were how would you rank
14:23this film
14:24and compared to the other 13 and every one of them said i would put it in the top two
14:29or the top three
14:30wow yeah yeah that's crazy um so did you set up like a bunch of like uh just a bunch
14:37of cameras
14:38cameras all over like in in like have like a i don't know a production room and just let the
14:44cameras roll uh throughout the days and the nights and just see what you see so not not in this
14:51particular investigation that that has been my style multiple times over the years um this location we
14:58did not because we had so many strange things taking place that we were actually worried about doing
15:06that and also uh there were different people once in a while that would have to come on board for
15:11things and it's very dark in that ship and it's easy to you know run into things and we didn't
15:17want
15:17you know the camera to face plant and lose a five thousand dollar lens or uh or whatnot but um
15:24you know
15:25the the duration of time that we investigated this ship cameras were running so much that we were
15:31definitely able to pick up a multitude of things wow uh can you tell us some of the things that
15:37you
15:37picked up or you want to you want to surprise everybody yeah i would say it's you know we could
15:42kind of leave it for for a surprise but we you know we went after a lot of different things
15:49in the
15:50ship you know and and other people's experiences you know so we you know a lot of people investigate
15:55this ship and that's another important fact that people have been investigating it for years you
16:01know they even were doing public investigations uh letting people come on board the edson and ghost
16:07hunts if you will um all night long so there's so many people coming in there having profound
16:13experiences we would hear about who they were bring them in for an interview and then go to where they
16:18were to kind of recreate that dynamic uh one gentleman um from the east coast he's a very
16:26well-known man his name is tim shaw um you know he's been seen a lot on television uh other
16:31you know
16:31major shows he's a psychic medium paranormal researcher he was on board the edson using a spirit
16:37board um actually uh one year and uh they were conducting some form of a seance and what they call
16:45the 9 11 room which is a very interesting story of why it's called that and a full body apparition
16:50was seen by him as well as members of the staff of the edson when we found that out we
16:55actually flew
16:56him out to recreate that dynamic in that room with the same individuals to see what would happen so
17:03it's very experiment based this particular documentary we wanted to experiment with areas
17:11and situations what other people have experienced to see what would happen by recreating that dynamic
17:16or those dynamics so who else did you uh fly in and you know it's funny you mention that because
17:22uh
17:22there have been many people i've interviewed for this uh you know for this podcast um that have that
17:28have gone on that ship and have said crazy things of course you're one of them as well but uh
17:33did you
17:33bring other people in as well to talk to yeah absolutely uh besides bringing uh tim shaw
17:38uh to to the edson um elizabeth saint you know she's a well-known investigator uh she know been
17:45seen a lot of times on television things like that and a good friend uh josh heard another well-known
17:51paranormal investigator and of course you know members of the haunted saginaw team and so you bring
17:57in these now you talked about bringing in some of the people that were actually on the boat or some
18:01people that have some experience with the boat yes yeah and i mean what kind of things did they tell
18:05you um a lot of things so you know one of the most really impactful interviews uh was a gentleman
18:12named nick candaris and uh we flew him in from new york um he served aboard the edson in vietnam
18:18in
18:19battle and again you know he uh had a luckily for us you know he loved film and had a
18:25camera and filmed
18:26a ton of things and gave us the footage which is i mean priceless but the one of the main
18:31reasons
18:32we flew nick out was there's a resident spirit so to speak that the staff and so many people
18:41swear is still residing on the ship a man named paul uh that worked aboard the edson and um had
18:49a
18:49heart attack while on the ship and people believe that his spirit still resides there um he's seen by
18:56so many people and uh this gentleman nick actually was very good friends with paul so we wanted to
19:03learn more about who paul was what his you know relationship was with the ship and um and a lot
19:09of things of that nature so you know nick was a just a great um asset to the investigation um
19:16in so
19:17many different ways but we interviewed a lot of gentlemen that were on board learned about what the
19:21edson did in battle it was a very powerful gunship um that deployed a lot of ammunition during the
19:28vietnam war um and one of the interesting things about it is even how it got its name the gray
19:34ghost
19:34of the vietnamese coast that actually came from the enemy which is interesting so you know the edson was
19:41out there doing what it does best you know and delivering a lot of ammo and the vietnamese uh did
19:48hit
19:48it and they thought they had sunk it and so you know the the word was you know through all
19:54the radio
19:54they you know they're deciphering the enemy's you know communications that they believe that they had
20:00destroyed it and sunk it but what happened was it was very foggy the edson took off and left you
20:06know
20:06dry docked and got fixed up and came back a few months later when it came back again it happened
20:12to be
20:12very foggy in the same area it came out of the fog and just unloaded on the areas that had
20:20attacked it
20:21and they were screaming over the microphone the enemies that it's a it's a ghost it's a ghost ship
20:26the gray ghost and that's how it got its name oddly enough from the enemy now did you uh did
20:31you make
20:31any contact with uh paul so yeah maybe i'll leave that for the film that's an interesting yeah i i
20:42made
20:42a uh you can say i made an executive decision um regarding paul in this investigation and i i kind
20:49of don't you know want to let the cat out of the bag of what that that's what that was
20:53yeah yeah no
20:54but um but if you were to ask me do i believe his presence is there in my opinion yes
21:02okay and and
21:04you were you were talking about how you normally do houses and buildings and different things like
21:08that uh this is your first ever boat uh aquatic vehicle that you've ever investigated yeah it's the
21:17first first ship i've ever investigated um and it came with its with its challenges you know
21:24it was it's definitely it's a challenging thing for so many reasons i mean number one let's talk
21:29about spiders if you aren't a fan of spiders you never want to go there you know we filmed in
21:37june july and august and even when you get to the edson you know you walk out onto a dock
21:43and you know you've got you've got the railings on both sides of you and they're covered in these
21:50spiders and they're i mean these are big spiders bodies are this big
21:54all over them the steps when you're walking on the outside even the inside you know how many
21:59times i can tell you and even watching the footage and laughing where i'm standing there talking and
22:04then you see a spider like right beside me or behind me just kind of drop down and go right
22:09back up
22:10they're everywhere man it's infested wow i didn't think that i wouldn't i wouldn't have thought that
22:15yes it's a thing for sure it's part of the you know the character of it birds dive bombing you
22:21constantly because they're building nests around and you're walking on the outside and they're
22:25swooping at you all angry so you know a lot of weird things there um heat a steel ship baking
22:33in
22:34the you know the humid michigan summer and the sun all day long so even when it's three in the
22:38morning
22:39and you're investigating you're you're in a 95 degree room or 100 degree room down there sweating so
22:44much that your black shirt has white rings around it from the salt from the sodium leaving your body
22:51that type of thing i mean it's it's very challenging um even getting gear in and out of certain areas
22:58down in hatches is very difficult and i was going to ask what about uh tourists don't they take people
23:05on these ships all the time they do yep so so we would we would work around that as much
23:10as possible
23:10to not interfere or interrupt that that was one thing that was very touching to see is that
23:15um first of all the people at the ed center fantastic they they do this out of love most of
23:21the people there are volunteers and um they you know they love the tourists that come there uh they
23:27give tours they'll answer anybody's questions and we're seeing people from around the world that's
23:32what blew me away you know you'd be hearing people speaking multiple different languages you know
23:37german uh so many different things if they're coming from from hungary um all these different
23:43countries to pay respects to this place and visit it not just from around the u.s or the state
23:48but
23:48even abroad and uh it was very touching to see um the level of commitment from the staff and and
23:57just kind of the love from the people coming to the ship and you would see people that you know
24:02had
24:02served in different naval capacities military capacities going there with their kids
24:07and their kids are seeing a glimpse of what they went through in saying you know dad so you were
24:13on a ship like this you know yes and you know and they're kind of like man you and you
24:17guys slept in
24:18beds this small and crammed and and you know and you were this far from home and being shot at
24:24and it's
24:24like you're just it's like living history wow and would would this incline you to uh to maybe
24:31investigate more boats more ships yeah ships yeah definitely don't never say the word boat
24:36right right right i made that mistake once you know early on and i and so i was i was
24:42corrected
24:42multiple times and now it's always the ship yeah you know then i would say battleship and i was corrected
24:48this is not a battleship this is a sherman class destroyer so yeah so they're quick to correct you i
24:57guess rightfully so there's a protocol there but yeah no i would love to do more you know in the
25:03future it's kind of interesting since we brought up the topic of the gray ghost i had a facebook
25:07comment they were very heated about the gray ghost title just one person you know and it i may be
25:14wrong
25:14on this but i'm pretty sure they they wanted to let me know that the gray ghost is referred to
25:20as um
25:20that famous ship in uh what is a long beach california uh what's that ship called right now
25:26i'm sorry chemo brain is is rocking it's a very infamous ship fantastic location and uh but we
25:33didn't name it the gray ghost yeah the Vietnamese yeah right it's been referred to that for you know
25:3850 some years um so but yeah if there's any confusion we just went with exactly what it's been called
25:46all
25:46of these years and what it's be you know referred to as now of course you're not too far uh
25:51from uh
25:52the uh what is that whitefish point is that right where uh where yeah i mean there's been some ships
25:59obviously that went down up there and stuff have you ever investigated that stuff no no no i have not
26:05yeah yeah it's interesting that you bring up kind of aquatic hauntings right because um there's a friend
26:11a guy named ron and uh he were you know he talks about a lighthouse in michigan it's about 20
26:19miles
26:19out into the water and it's supposedly uh very haunted you know people that work at this lighthouse
26:26talk about it there's blogs about it and uh apparently you can go stay there you can actually
26:32rent it out you know with a group of people they bring you out by boat drop you off and
26:37you can stay
26:37in there and uh you know we were thinking about maybe investigating that which would be interesting
26:43in itself you know now i'm kind of getting into the the aquatic hauntings yeah i've i've heard some
26:49crazy stories about lighthouses that have been haunted um there's one i want to say in the in the up
26:55up on
26:56the western side i think uh comes to mind uh but um no that's right yeah the the that stuff
27:02have you
27:03ever have you ever i mean let me ask you this is there a place do you think that the
27:08that the
27:08entire planet is haunted um if you're just looking for it you'll find it or are there places where
27:14you're like there's nothing happening here okay so of course you know this is subjective and so
27:20opinion based in my opinion today at this moment i feel if you are looking for it you will find
27:30it
27:30you know i think that there is spirit activity all around i think that there is other activity uh dark
27:37activity that's always around um i think if people go digging digging and trying to communicate
27:45something will communicate with you whether that's a good thing or a bad thing but of course obviously
27:51certain locations um are way more robust with activity for certain reasons definitely of course that's
28:00you know that's fact but i do believe if you're trying to open doors of communication pretty much
28:07anywhere that can happen it's just a matter of what are you communicating with and when you were on the
28:13uh on the gray ghost was there ever a time and you don't have to get specific or even tell
28:18me a story but
28:19were there ever times where where it was frightening
28:28there there were a few communications that were a little shocking you know uh what you know one thing
28:37uh going back to one of your earlier questions is there anything we're not gonna see two things about
28:44that one i do i do have a patreon channel where footage like this will ultimately get released
28:52so people can enjoy what they didn't see as well as 99 of that content is all exclusive we're talking
29:00hundreds of episodes that nobody has ever seen um so this will ultimately get seen but
29:07there was an investigation that we did in the bolson's locker where there's this hole for lack
29:14of a better word and we kept hearing this tapping in there then we heard a whispering coming from it
29:19and
29:20we're all looking at each other like what is happening right now and so i get down on my knees
29:26and i get
29:26right up to this hole and i'm sticking my hand in there with you know with this dr 60 recorder
29:32and i'm asking
29:33questions and this vocal comes through this audio and it screams which is very cliche i don't know why
29:41spirits do this so much but it screams get out in the most angriest loudest and clearest way you can
29:50imagine and we told the spirit we did say right before this if you don't want us here let us
29:57know
29:57because we wanted to be ultra respectful i mean we always are but being on board a military should
30:03you know my father was military my brother was military other members of the crew had military
30:08families so we wanted to be very respectful here and we said at any point if you don't want us
30:15in
30:15this bosom's locker you tell us and we'll leave once it screamed get out my reaction is a little comical
30:22because i did not expect it and uh we just grabbed our gear said goodbye thank you for your time
30:29and we
30:29just left you know so did you return not to the bosom's locker nope we kept our word on that
30:37we
30:37really did yeah uh and so many other interesting things too this this one i'm going to mention is
30:43in the film but you know using a geoport device um we were in a room called the radio room
30:49and
30:49there was top secret clearance needed to be in that room because they were in there listening to enemies
30:53uh communication and um one of the things that the box said was what's your rank which i thought was
31:01very interesting almost like what are you doing in here what's your rank and so that leads me to
31:06believe that i'm aboard the edson i believe that there's intelligent haunts and i believe that there's
31:12residual haunts taking place you know because it makes you wonder that what's your rank was that a
31:19person that knew they were deceased or were they still in battle were they still there you know
31:25living as if they weren't is it parallel what what is it and that's kind of one of the very
31:30fascinating
31:31things about the paranormal you know there's a lot of things we know there's a lot of things that we
31:38understand but paranormal is just that i mean we're never going to have the answers ultimately i don't
31:45believe until well you can you know right right yeah and like you said though before you you know
31:51everybody should know i mean everyone you know it kind of goes without saying that everything you say
31:56here is of your opinion yeah yeah i always specify that only just because you know i don't want to
32:02come across as one of those people that feel they have all the answers i always try to stress to
32:08people
32:08we don't right we don't have all the answers all all we can do as investigators or documentarians
32:15or just you know humans experiencing is we can collect evidence we can have experiences we can try
32:22to decipher what what it is who it is why it is but we can't understand that you know and
32:29maybe even in
32:30a thousand years we won't understand it i don't know how we'll ever have definitive answers because a lot of
32:36people kind of give definitive answers but i don't you know i don't know how you can with with a
32:42subject
32:42like this you know right exactly it's so subjective it is yeah everyone's experience is different everyone's
32:48religion is different everyone's world view and lens is different you know we we all receive information
32:55in a different way right but when everybody hears uh words uh from a an entity or whatever saying get
33:01out
33:01everyone hears that yes yeah so to me i mean that's obviously very intelligent i mean i would
33:07definitely say that was a classic evp and we received a ton of them you know on that ship that's
33:12one thing that that was very shocking was the amount of evps that we captured and for those listening that
33:18don't know what an evp is you know electronic voice phenomenon ultimately you're asking questions
33:23you're recording or you're just recording and not asking questions and you're hearing disembodied voices
33:29talking meaning nobody was in the room or nobody should have made those responses but they did
33:34and they're very clear words sentences phrases um with intelligence that seem to correspond with
33:41with the moment and sometimes you hear those things when you're there and sometimes you hear it when you
33:47listen back don't you yes very much so and that is super interesting interesting on a lot of levels so
33:54one thing over the years i've noticed is you can have three or four cameras in a room
33:59and you catch an evp on one of them and you go to the to the audio on the other
34:03ones because of course
34:04you're saying hey this is awesome maybe one of the other cameras caught it clearer and we'll use that
34:09audio but then the other cameras didn't catch it at all and they're only a few feet away from each
34:15other how is that possible yeah i guess uh that's one of the uh the mysteries of our time that
34:21we'll
34:21never be able to figure out like there's a lot of stuff that you just don't you won't ever find
34:25out
34:25so yeah because scientifically i guess or from a technology standpoint how does that make sense
34:30right you know well wrapping things up here is there anything that uh that you did that we didn't
34:35cover that that that the uh the people should know and by the way this happens on saturday november
34:407th maybe give us some ticket info as well about this temple theater sure um i guess what i would
34:46say
34:46in conclusion about the great ghost the uss edson battleship it's extremely active um extremely
34:54active we were actually blown away with the amount of activity that we captured um it has a lot of
35:00history to it there's a lot of emotion think about the people that served on there in battle all that
35:05emotion you know being trapped in that steel cage if you will uh there's a lot of power there there's
35:12a lot
35:12of energy there um you can go and tour it which i highly suggest it's a beautiful place it's a
35:19symbolic place and even on top of that they actually even do a haunting a haunted house there so in
35:26october it's called i believe the edson incident you know and it's and people love it you know you go
35:31there so you're actually going through a haunted attraction in an actually haunted location right
35:38you know which is really interesting to say the least you know and that'll be going all through
35:42october and people can check that out or just tour it on a normal day or do both um the
35:48worldwide
35:48premiere of this film that we did um will be at the temple theater in saginaw historic temple theater
35:53uh november 7th saturday as you said one week from halloween uh you can get tickets either by calling
36:00the temple theater uh box office going there in person or just temple theater.com and uh tickets go on
36:06sale uh september 25th at 10 a.m oh oh okay september okay all right so as we record this
36:13on friday i'm
36:13thinking to myself wait a second it's going to sell two weeks september 25th gotcha all right well i gotta
36:19make the trip up there for the red carpet maybe i'll wear my best um tuxedo t-shirt yeah yeah
36:25that'd be
36:26great if you could come up man it's a it's a great time this is our 14th documentary and uh
36:32so we've you
36:32know we've had uh 14 years of premieres at the temple theater i think i sent you a video once
36:38before i mean it's a huge crowd and people it's turned into a tradition in this area and that's
36:44what's so fun about it is you know you watch video you know we have camera guys out getting footage
36:48of
36:49the event and people are standing in line and making friends you know because you're standing in line and
36:54you're looking over and you're just talking and it's like oh you know you you hear those conversations
36:58this is my ninth film what about you i've been here for all 14 oh this is my first one
37:04and people
37:04are coming in from uh different states we've had people coming from different countries you know
37:10ireland the uk australia coming here just for the premiere which blows me away so i mean really at this
37:19point it's not mine anymore it's everybody's you know what this thing i that i yes i created it but
37:27it's everybody's property now it's saginaw it's the community it's it's an event you know people
37:32have been coming for so many years that you know you remember them and now their kids are i don't
37:38know 25 years old 28 years old and they keep coming and you know it just it just it's really
37:44turned into something special you know way beyond anything that i ever envisioned you know all those
37:49years ago and a final question for you what is it like when you're watching your documentary being
37:55watched by several hundred a thousand people or whatever what is it like to to watch their reaction
38:02at oh you're talking about the premiere specifically yeah very cool i mean for many many years i used to
38:09sit right in the center of the theater and just sit in there you know just trying to hang out
38:14i kind
38:15of quit doing that because you know you kind of look over and you'd see you know people just kind
38:19of
38:19sitting there filming you and i didn't want to be a distraction because you know i want people to see
38:23focus on the movie but it's awesome because you get to really you know you can watch the film with
38:29other people that you you know that that are friends of yours and get opinions but nothing
38:33can possibly be beat sitting in a room of 2 000 people you know temples basically 2 000 seats
38:40and you're you're you're hearing their reactions um gasping laughing jumping um and every little
38:49mixture of everything you know and it's it's it's it's i'm lucky to have that you know so many
38:56filmmakers don't ever experience that you know they they produce something they put it out they see
39:02ratings stars comments things like that but you'll but until you have an experience like that it's it's uh
39:08it's hard to beat you know well that's that makes sense it does make sense it makes a lot of
39:13sense
39:13you know it's funny i always ask i always ask like bands like what's it like to put out a
39:17record and
39:18i guess they'll never really have that chance let's say have a record release party of sorts but
39:23you know what i'm saying it's like that when their record goes out like the new anthrax just came out
39:27i listened to it at my house you know frank bellow and scottian are not there watching me listen to
39:31it you know what i'm saying so they released a new record yeah it just came out on friday that's
39:36awesome i was in an elevator once with scottian oh yeah yeah no they they thanked me on the record
39:42which
39:42blew my mind like i like i don't know you know getting back into music here again we go again
39:48but i've been thanked on other records they never tell you and also you pick up the record like
39:51holy why anthrax thanks me i'm not sure i mean frank and scott are i consider them friends of mine
39:57um but if you look at the picture i posted online dave grohl and black sabbath and all these names
40:03are
40:03around my name it's like maybe it was a different meltdown i don't know now well you know you're one
40:09of
40:09those guys man i mean you know i've known about you forever you know that's why when you first
40:13reached out i was like heck yeah you know i did music for 20 years so i know what that's
40:17like when
40:18you when you have a good relationship and a rapport with somebody in your position it's no longer about
40:25what station or what company or what podcast you know you you know how that is man you know like
40:30when
40:31you're when you're a musician or an artist that they kind of become your friends and your family
40:35because you spend more time uh unfortunately you know doing things like that than you do hanging
40:42out with your old buddies or yeah things like that does that make sense oh it makes a lot of
40:47sense
40:47yeah and uh like i said i don't spend a ton of time with with the anthrax guys but they
40:51were nice
40:52enough to include me and um that was like a very yeah very humbling moment for sure i'm like man
40:58but uh well listen man you were just saying that you were lucky enough to uh to be able to
41:02see the
41:02reaction to people we're lucky enough to have you and i'm so grateful that you're uh back on the
41:06men and and really happy to uh talk to you like i was saying earlier before always uh wishing the
41:11best for you and uh i november 7th i'm making a note right now i'm going to take the trek
41:16up to
41:16saginaw and see you that would be great yeah we'd love to have you experience it man it's it's one
41:22of
41:22those things you know you just kind of need to to be there to experience it you know and if
41:27you ever
41:27want to do an investigation with us let us know i would love that yeah we'll go on board the
41:32edson
41:33or wherever you want to go yeah you someone say get out i'm like i'm gone see you later it
41:39happens
41:40i believe a lot i believe that yeah all right brother thank you so much man good luck we'll see
41:45you in a couple weeks or i guess a month or so okay
41:47you
41:48you
41:52you
