00:00Next thing you know, I'm like, I'm thinking to myself, I'm like, why is Trump still speaking?
00:03Why have they not pulled him off the stage?
00:05Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're talking about the times people
00:09nearly met their end while they were being filmed.
00:12The red flag has gone out, but not a moment too soon. In fact, several moments too late.
00:18Ben Brown.
00:19Are you guys all right? Is everyone okay? Are you all right? Is everyone okay?
00:22Ben Brown is a British lifestyle vlogger known for documenting his travels on YouTube.
00:27In 2016, he recorded an accidental PSA for driver safety while filming one of his vlogs
00:33in Berlin. The friends are chatting when suddenly the rear is hit by another vehicle
00:38on the side where Brown is sitting, deploying the airbags.
00:41That's a yog, isn't it? I think...
00:44Whoa!
00:44Thankfully, nobody was injured, but everyone on camera was clearly shaken by the accident.
00:50We're willing to bet this caused at least a few aspiring YouTubers to think twice
00:54before they vlog and drive.
00:56I think that's probably the worst car accident I've been in, luckily enough.
00:59Luckily, everybody was going pretty slowly.
01:01Girl pushes friend into moving bus.
01:04Watch the moment when a playful shove nearly turns tragic.
01:09If you're going to prank a friend, it's important to consider a few factors.
01:13How funny is it really? Are they likely to be offended? And oh yeah,
01:17is there a possibility it could cost them their life?
01:20Pushing your friend in front of traffic doesn't even qualify as a prank, but in this video,
01:25two teenage girls are walking in Czechowice-Dodice, Poland,
01:29when one gets the idea to push the other into a street for a laugh.
01:32When the girl fell, her head just barely missing the tires of an oncoming bus,
01:37there was not a ton of laughter from anyone.
01:39After being fined 70 euros for the blunder,
01:42we hope the offending teenage girl learned her lesson and found better material.
01:47The two then share a hug. The teen escapes with minor bruises.
01:52Flying car narrowly misses pedestrian.
01:54Flying cars might seem wondrous when you're watching films like Harry Potter and Chitty
01:59Chitty Bang Bang, but probably less so when one is suddenly hurtling toward you.
02:10In this incident captured on home security, a pedestrian walks along unknowingly,
02:15shopping bags in hand, while disaster unfolds in the background.
02:19A car tries to overtake a transporter, but ends up hitting its back wheel,
02:23sending the car flying towards the unsuspecting shopper.
02:26Things look dicey for a moment as he runs for his life while the car rolls in his direction.
02:32And fast. Thankfully, the man outruns the vehicle,
02:35and it miraculously lands upright where he was standing before.
02:40We hope whatever was in the pedestrian's shopping bags was worth risking his life for.
02:44Woman falls between gaps of moving train.
02:48The next time your train is late, count your blessings. At least you didn't almost lose your
02:55life while you were waiting. In this video, CCTV footage captures the moment a woman
03:00suffering from low blood pressure stumbles towards a train pulling up to Indepencia
03:05station near Buenos Aires, Argentina. Onlookers are horrified as the woman
03:09falls between the train's cars. Thankfully, the train was stopped,
03:13and the woman was transferred to the hospital where she received treatment.
03:16Somehow managing to escape the ordeal with just a few bruises.
03:20Workers rush to rescue her and get her to the hospital.
03:24This week she told the TV station, I don't know how I'm still alive.
03:282002 World Supersport Championship.
03:30What a huge blowout there, and down goes Christian Kellner.
03:36When you're a professional motorcycle racer, we have little doubt that you're used to things
03:40moving fast. But when one moment you're in the middle of a high-octane race,
03:44and the next your life flashes before your eyes, we bet it's still quite the adrenaline rush.
03:49Christian Kellner was competing in the 2002 World Supersport Championship when his oil
03:54line ruptured, resulting in a slick beneath his rear tire that sent him careening into a wall.
04:00It would be impressive to come out of this relatively unscathed.
04:04What makes the incident truly remarkable is when, like an obstacle in Mario Kart,
04:09the oil slick makes another cycle lose control and just barely miss Kellner's head.
04:15Talk about luck.
04:24Narrowly missed by a loose tire.
04:26Deaths caused by loose tires are more common than you think.
04:29All the more reason for this shop owner to be thankful that she was spared.
04:33No pun intended.
04:35A security camera captured a woman in Thailand just trying to do her job,
04:39handing a bag to a customer in her vehicle when, out of nowhere, a loose tire whizzes between them
04:45before hitting a wall and stopping. The customer in her car reportedly suffered some injuries,
04:50while the shop owner appeared to be fine.
04:52But we still don't think she gets paid enough for this.
04:56Nearly crushed by a concrete block.
04:58In this video, Alexander, a 27-year-old man from Russia,
05:02scrapes ice off the windscreen of his car before he looks up and runs away from it.
05:07A millisecond later, the vehicle is decimated by a concrete slab,
05:11reportedly weighing two tons, that had fallen off the roof of Alexander's residential building.
05:17Thank Mother Russia that he happened to look up when he did,
05:19and that nobody was seated in the car at the time,
05:23unless they're a little bit drunk.
05:25Getting struck by lightning while dancing.
05:33In this video, egged on by his girlfriend who's filming the whole thing,
05:37a shirtless man decides it's a great idea to bust a move next to his parked car
05:42while a natural disaster strikes.
05:44The car is hit by a concrete block, and the car is hit by a concrete block.
05:48The car is hit by a concrete block, and the car is hit by a concrete block.
05:52next to his parked car while a natural disaster rages on.
05:58It goes about how you'd expect. We're not saying it was deserved.
06:01After all, who hasn't done something stupid to impress a girl?
06:06But we'd be lying if it wasn't a little bit satisfying
06:09when Thor brings down the hammer on the man while he makes a mockery of the Maelstrom.
06:15Hopefully, lightning won't need to strike twice for him to learn
06:18that the TikTok isn't worth it.
06:23Surfing an avalanche.
06:25It's almost like something out of an over-the-top spy movie.
06:28Picture it. 007 has just successfully infiltrated the evil mastermind's secret mountain lair,
06:34and it's time to make a daring escape via snowmobile.
06:37But oh no!
06:38The snowy ground begins to collapse beneath the secret agent as he speeds away.
06:48It's a stunt that would surely be a film highlight.
06:51While there may not be any espionage going on in this very real video,
06:56it's still thrilling to watch as the snowmobile rider surfs the waves of this avalanche,
07:01inexplicably emerging without harm from a disastrous-looking situation.
07:05Just as badass as Bond in our book,
07:15Incoming Avalanche.
07:16In this clip, hiker Harry Shimin is met with a terrifying sight,
07:21that of a massive cloud of white barreling down the mountain toward him.
07:25Shimin was walking through Kyrgyzstan's Tian Shan mountains with a larger group
07:29when he peeled off solo.
07:30Soon he was hit by an approaching avalanche.
07:33It begins at the very peak of the mountain, but is startlingly quick to reach him.
07:46He decided to film the approach as he believed that he was at a safe distance.
07:50He was wrong.
07:51Shimin ducked down into a small hole as the snow rushed by
07:55and struggled to get air for several seconds.
07:58Luckily, he and everyone else on the trek made it through the incident without major injuries.
08:16Tidal Pool Rescue
08:23Never underestimate just how dangerous the ocean can be.
08:26In 2014, a young man found himself swept up into a treacherous rip current at Abalone Cove Beach
08:32in California, which was captured on video by a concerned bystander.
08:36Thankfully, the folks on the shore did more than just film.
08:40Two onlookers, Gary Golding and Rob McNulty,
08:42dove in headfirst to rescue the man and attempt to resuscitate him.
08:46They managed to get him and themselves out of the water safely,
08:50and lifeguards appeared on the scene shortly after.
08:52So I'm going stomach, chest, stomach, chest, stomach, chest.
08:55I just wanted to empty this kid out.
08:58Foam and blood was coming out of his mouth.
09:00Hazardous Substance
09:02Fentanyl was the deadliest drug of 2021 in terms of overdoses,
09:06and is a leading synthetic in the opioid epidemic.
09:09On July 3rd, 2021, police trainee David Fiveye of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department
09:15was at the site of a drug arrest.
09:17There has been some debate over what happened next,
09:19as just handling fentanyl cannot lead to an overdose.
09:23But while retrieving a bag from his evidence kit,
09:26Fiveye placed his face close to where he'd been testing bags of fentanyl and methamphetamine.
09:31In the video, he goes rigid and collapses to the ground.
09:35His training officer, Scott Crane, quickly grabs some nearby packets of naloxone,
09:39which is used to offset the drug and save people's lives.
09:43Fortunately, Fiveye survived, but it is a disturbing video nonetheless.
09:47Fisherman Close Call
09:49The boat definitely hit me, and luckily it didn't hit my head and knock me out.
09:54Now this is one frightening point of view video.
09:57Christopher Lostra, a spear fisherman in Oahu, Hawaii,
10:00was recording his dive when he came up for air for a split second
10:04and it nearly cost him his life.
10:06As scary as this clip is, fear not. Lostra came out unscathed.
10:10The boat merely grazed him and banged up one of his flippers.
10:17If you ask us, that's a small price to pay for what could have been the last
10:21trip out to sea he ever took.
10:23If you're wondering why this mishap took place at all, Lostra was fishing without his buoy,
10:28which would have alarmed mariners that someone was just below the surface.
10:32Last week I lost my buoy in the current, so decided I would go without a buoy
10:38and thinking it would be okay, but obviously was not.
10:42Inches From Death
10:44This man from India was quite literally inches from death.
10:48In some terrifying footage captured by a nearby camera,
10:51he can be seen riding his motorcycle onto an active train track.
10:55Soon he notices that a speeding train is barreling directly at him,
10:58and he both slams on the brakes and climbs off the motorcycle.
11:02The reaction was perfectly timed, as the train shatters his bike almost the second he gets off
11:08of it. Debris goes flying, and the man scrambles away from immediate danger.
11:13Though he probably got the fright of his life,
11:15he was physically unharmed and was able to walk away from the scene.
11:20Collapsing Onto Subway Tracks
11:22A video from April of 2022 shows a man walking in Sydney's Redfern Station
11:26when he falls onto the tracks. He hits the ground hard and reportedly loses consciousness.
11:32Some onlookers act fast and jump onto the active tracks in an attempt to save him.
11:36To make matters even worse, the train is scheduled to arrive any minute,
11:41so serious trouble is looming. Luckily,
11:43staff members waving red flags are able to alert the incoming vehicle.
11:47Seconds that felt like a lifetime for people on the platform,
11:51the train grinds to a halt just centimeters from tragedy.
11:55It gets pretty close, but manages to stop in the nick of time,
11:59just far away enough to avoid hurting anyone.
12:02If the station person hadn't been there to wave the train driver down,
12:06then that would have definitely resulted in a fatality.
12:09Going Through Ice
12:11Frozen bodies of water are no joke. On a February evening in 2017,
12:15a large group of kids and teens ventured onto a frozen pond in Central Park.
12:20What they didn't realize, though, was that it wasn't solid and definitely unsuitable for
12:25standing on. As the friends played around, enjoyed themselves, and posed for selfies,
12:30the ice underneath their feet shattered, sending them into the freezing water.
12:35The harrowing clip shows them flailing around in desperation for a while. Thankfully,
12:40some witnesses then grabbed a ladder and helped them out.
12:43They subsequently received medical care and all recovered.
12:50Narrow Escape from Falling Concrete Block
12:57A popular comedy trope in movies and TV shows involves a heavy object,
13:02typically a piano or anvil, being dropped on a poor guy's head.
13:09But no one was laughing when a similar incident nearly happened to this young boy.
13:13It's not quite clear where or how the falling debris emerged, but the short CCTV clip shows
13:19the boy walking out of a building when a concrete block drops right next to him.
13:24It's so close that he feels the impact just by his feet and leaps to safety. Time makes all the
13:30difference here, as it probably would have been a different story if the young lad was one second
13:35late. Rehearsal Gone Wrong
13:38Jonathan Goodman is a professional escapologist who found success on shows like America's Got
13:43Talent and its British counterpart. In October of 2021, a camera captured him rehearsing for
13:58America's Got Talent Extreme. His stunt is incredibly ambitious, as it sees him hanging
14:04upside down in a straitjacket high above the ground. Meanwhile, two exploding cars are set
14:09to release and sandwich Goodman if he doesn't escape in time. Something goes horribly wrong,
14:15and both vehicles collide into him. His injuries were extremely severe, and he ended up paralyzed
14:20from the waist down, but ultimately survived. He's since retired from stunt work.
14:39Trump Grazed by a Bullet
14:47During American elections these days, there seems to be one wild moment after another.
14:52But an assassination attempt on our former president is always going to be particularly
14:56notable, even if something wilder takes its place in the news cycle before we know it.
15:00Trump was speaking at a campaign rally near Butler, Pennsylvania,
15:03when the top of his right ear was grazed by a shot taken by Thomas Matthew Crooks from a nearby roof.
15:09The shooter was promptly dealt with after the fact, but many were aghast that he was even able
15:20to get a shot in the first place. And just what were the shooter's motives and political allegiances?
15:25Very good question to briefly ask before heading into the next political fiasco.
15:39Mid-Air Collision
16:00In 2013, something absolutely horrifying happened. Two Wisconsin plains-bearing skydivers
16:07collided in the sky. The unfortunate crash is captured on various helmet cameras,
16:12as is the startling aftermath. Multiple people spill from the plains as fiery debris and falling
16:18airplanes rain down around them. It's spelled catastrophe, but amazingly, all eleven people
16:24– skydivers and pilots alike – survived the terrifying accident. A few were hurt a bit,
16:29but thankfully, no one was hurt too severely. It's an amazing story of survival and quick
16:34thinking, and it makes for some truly intense footage. Have a nearly morbid movie that we
16:51missed? Let us know in the comments! Check out these other clips from WatchMojo,
