Jordan's king urges Assad to step down

King Abdullah of Jordan says that if Bashar al-Assad, the Syrian president, has his nation's interests at heart, he would step down.

The Jordanian head of state's comments are the most critical yet from an Arab leader.

Al Jazeera's Rula Amin was briefly allowed into Syria, and sent this report from Damascus.

She was subject to government restrictions while reporting.
