Imagine for a minute that you found a time machine, you now have the ability to go into the future and see your ideal life. You can see yourself as the successful person you always thought you would eventually become. See your family, all the happiness you have shared with them, your business or your career has been so fulfilling, your body at this advanced age is still in good shape since you took care of it so well.
Now that you have seen that all your goals have been achieved, take a minute to come back to the present and let's work on getting there from this moment.
Step 1 - Decide what you want in each area of your life. Be as specific as possible, picture all the things you saw in our trip to the future, all the things that made you happy and that you had achieved.
Step 2- Make a list of goals for each area of your life. Write down goals regarding your health, family, career, spiritual goals, etc..
Step 3- Set a deadline for each goal. Put a date for when you want to accomplish each goal.
Step 4- Make a list of everything you can think of that will help you achieve your goal. Keep a running list of things you need in order to achieve your goals, whether is taking a class, signing up as a volunteer or becoming an intern at a company that you would like to work at, add it to your list.
Step 5- Organize all the ideas into a plan of action. Take all the items on your list above and write a concise plan on how you are going to tackle all these tasks.
Step 6- Take action immediately.
Step 7- Do something everyday that will bring you closer to your goal.
This technique will help you get clarity of your goals and it will help you develop a simple plan to achieve them.
