The 15th Robot World Cup has taken place in Bangalore city in India.
52 teams from 17 countries took part in the competition which is organised by The Federation of International Robosoccer Association.
The robots are not as swift or big as humans but organisers predict a team of robots could actually do duty during the FIFA World Cup 2050.
Prahlad Vedakkepat, who is an Associate Professor and Head of the Robotic Cluster at the National University of Singapore, said the motive behind the event was to provide a platform for the younger generation to share their ideas and talent to make a robotic world a reality.
"The motto of this event is to bring theory and practice together. Most of the engineering colleges just delve into the theory, but practical aspects are not really put into proper prospective".
