00:00The problems that we're seeing all around the world, geopolitical issues, including the war in Iran,
00:06these are the kind of issues that bring home two messages to me.
00:09First of all, that we have to get off the roller coaster of relying on gas and oil prices around
00:15the world.
00:16We need to transition to renewable energy in the UK, a really important part of what we're trying to do.
00:21And secondly, we have to live within our means.
00:25We have to make sure that we run the economy in a way that really delivers for ordinary people.
00:29That means 1.7 million people who rely on oil and central heating.
00:34We've provided additional support for them over the last few weeks.
00:37We've got the price cap, which lasts until June.
00:39And of course, we're going to look at what we can do about fuel duty, depending on what happens in
00:44the situation in the Gulf.
00:46But my main point is, I'd really like to de-escalate this war so that we can get back to
00:50free and fair trade.
