In spite of it all, something held the Levin family together-- Until it didn’t.
Max lived in his bedroom for two-and-a-half years. A contractor who’d constructed the Galilee and become rich, he is rendered penniless by legal imbroglios. A burden, this man who’d not known failure.
Now, he decides to leave his room and reclaim life. He’s lost many of his skills, his friends, his kids, and his wife, once in the shadows, has taken over.
Max learns life from scratch, doing it his way, gracefully, humourously. The family is reunited till at 57, he is diagnosed with Altzheimer’s, abandoning them again, retreating once more into his own world and his secret, private loves.
