00:12coming-of-age sci-fi hit will get a theatrical release, after the streamer had previously
00:16stated that was not part of the plan. The screenings of the season 5 closer will take
00:21place in more than 350 theaters in the U.S. and Canada, starting December 31st at 5 p.m. Pacific,
00:27timed to the finale's global premiere on Netflix, and will run through January 1st, 2026.

00:43The Duffer brothers said in a statement,
00:45We're beyond excited that fans will have the chance to experience the final episode of
00:49Stranger Things in theaters. It's something we've dreamed about for years, and we're so
00:53grateful to Ted, Bella, and everyone at Netflix for making it happen.
00:57Getting to see it on the big screen with incredible sound, picture, and a room full of fans feels like
01:02the perfect, dare we say bitchin', way to celebrate the end of this adventure.
01:06Despite previous statements from Netflix's chief creative officer, Bella Bajaria, that the finale
01:10wouldn't be released in movie theaters, a Netflix source now adds that the theatrical deal has,
01:15Netflix has a history of pushing back on the idea of putting its content in theaters,
01:24but the new move follows the streamer's success in releasing K-pop Demon Hunters as a sing-along
01:29theatrical event in August. The fifth and final season of Stranger Things will be rolled out in
01:33three parts, all coinciding with major U.S. holidays. The first four episodes will drop November 26th,
01:39during Thanksgiving week, another three episodes will be released Christmas Eve, and then the
01:43single episode finale will drop on New Year's Eve. More information on how to attend the finale
