Actor and political activist Corin Redgrave - a member of the famous theatrical dynasty - has died, aged 70.

The stage, TV and film star passed away surrounded by his family after being taken ill over the weekend.

"He died very peacefully surrounded by his family. We will miss him so very much."

Redgrave was brother to Vanessa and Lynn Redgrave and the son of actor and director Michael Redgrave.
