00:00I think that Keir Starmer is signing up to the worst of both worlds.
00:04Not in the EU, out of the EU, and then taking their rules.
00:09If he wants to go into the EU, he should come out and say so.
00:12He needs to be very clear.
00:13But a lot of this really is just a distraction from the mess that he's been making on the economy.
00:17There is a lot of power which Keir Starmer has right now to improve our economy.
00:22He's not using those powers.
00:23And I'm telling him what I would do, abolishing business rates, for example,
00:27our cheap power plan, which would scrap VAT on bills paid for by welfare.
00:32If he's going to align himself with EU rules, he's not going to be able to scrap VAT to zero,
00:37which is what I'm suggesting right now.
00:38So I'm not sure how these plans are going to work.
00:41We're going to need to see a lot more detail.
00:42But I think they're a distraction from the problems which have been created by Labour's own policy.
