00:00Software engineers have made a fruit fly play Doom, Mario 64 and Beat Saber. A simulated
00:07fruit fly has become a gamer, a sentence I am delighted to say out loud. Google managed
00:13to fully map the brain and central nervous system of a fruit fly using AI, combining
00:19millions of 2D images into a workable model. Three days later, software engineer Alex Wormuth
00:25had it playing Doom. Wormuth says, each Doom frame stimulates sensory neurons. Neural
00:31activity is mapped to game controls. Does this mean we're close to mapping a human
00:36brain? Not quite. While Google's mapping of a fly's 166,000 neurons is impressive, a human
00:43brain has about 86 billion of the suckers, or 518,072 flies. Still, it's a fly in the
00:52right direction. Check out the full story on pcgamer.com and follow us here for more gaming
