00:00Tell us a little bit about what Snap Discovery is and how it works.
00:07Snap Discovery is a deep tech company and we let you control games and software with your mind.
00:13We have an AI pipeline which is trained on the user's thoughts.
00:17And you can, for example, think of moving your left hand or moving your right hand or your concentrating.
00:23And then we take these models which we have trained and use them as an input for the software or the games
00:28so that we can control it.
00:30And for the games, is it only games that are native to your whole company or is it other types of games that could be used on?
00:37Tell us a little bit about how that works.
00:38So right now we're emulating just the keystrokes on the keyboard so we could just control any game.
00:44But we try to change a little bit the development of the games so that the games will be more designed for the brain
00:51and not for the hand movement so that there will be a little shift in the interface.
00:56And why did you want to start this? What made you think this is what I want to devote my time and energy to?
01:02I just think it's the next stage of communication to our technology.
01:06It's the direct and most immersive and intentional communication to technology.
01:12But of course it also helps people with disabilities who cannot move their arms or hands any more correctly.
01:17So it will also be a benefit to a lot of people.
01:20What do you think is the biggest challenge right now? Because this is so many different moving parts you're working with.
01:24What's the hardest thing that you're grappling with right now?
01:28Well, the hardest part right now is the hardware to bring it into a nice usability.
01:34So because the systems we are using right now are research devices and development devices.
01:41But to have an everyday system, it needs to be comfortable, easy to use, quick.
01:45Yeah, and this is right now where we are working on.
01:47And so what is the timeline if I'm like, I'm excited for this, let's go get it.
01:51What are you thinking for the timeline of when it'll actually be on the market?
01:54Yeah, we think it's like around one and a half years.
01:57And then we have a system which is, well, maybe not fully in the market, but to show something which is easy and nice to use.
02:05Yeah, that's amazing. That's so exciting that that's actually not too far off.
02:09And when you think about the future of not just your company, but the whole industry, where do you see that going?
02:14You mentioned a little bit about helping people with disabilities, things like that.
02:17Where do you see all of this going?
02:19Well, I think one of the biggest vision in that part is silent speech.
02:22So that you think about words and you're not typing them in anymore or you're not speaking them out anymore.
02:27A little bit like telepathy.
02:29I don't know.
02:30Yeah, I think that is a big goal there.
02:32And later on, we don't only want to control games, but the smartphone so that our thumb gets a little rest here and yeah.
