The Sabres dropped an important divisional game to the Senators 2-1 last night after blowing their one-goal lead in a terrible 3rd period. Are you getting concerned about the Sabres forward group?
Transcript
00:00Money Puck put Chaos at 1.14 goals saved above expected.
00:05Yeah.
00:05How many games the Sabres have had like that lately?
00:08It's been a while, right?
00:09Not many games this year have gone that way.
00:12And this time it's, you know, the forwards that let you down.
00:16It's the, it's, I thought the Sabres looked like they ran out of gas.
00:20Because in the first two periods they were, I thought they were working pretty hard.
00:24I thought they looked alright.
00:25But just ran out of gas by the end of it.
00:26Ottawa was maybe the better team throughout the night.
00:28But I didn't think the Sabres were, you know, there for lack of trying.
00:31Maybe not the sharpest they've been.
00:32Which, that could happen when your first game back from Western, West Coast trip, he tried to say.
00:38But Ottawa was coming back from the West as well.
00:40So, I don't know what the excuse was.
00:41But a tough loss.
00:43You know, any loss like that where it's in division and you had it, you had the lead.
00:48Or tied at the end of regulation or close to the end of regulation.
00:52You give up a goal that late.
00:53That's tough.
00:54This was the rare game.
00:56I don't often do this, but this was the rare game where I was noticing how frequently the fourth line
01:02was on the ice.
01:03You and I were at the game together.
01:04Yeah.
01:05The fourth line even earned an icing.
01:08And Lindy kept them out there.
01:10Yeah, like Ottawa iced it.
01:12Yeah.
01:12So, offensive zone start.
01:14Ozone start.
01:14They were tied with less than 10 minutes to go.
01:17And what?
01:19It's just, it's the fourth line's going to start down there again?
01:22Okay.
01:23That seems strange to me.
01:24So.
01:25I think what happened, and this is a larger point of concern, is you're playing Ottawa, team in your division,
01:36that lost their best player over the summer, and you're tied with them in the final 10 minutes of the
01:42game.
01:43And you have a line that's got a lot of money tied up in it, in Josh Norris, Ryan McLeod,
01:48and Jason Zucker that they could not trust to put on the ice.
01:51Yeah.
01:51So, if you wanted to roll three lines, what's your third line?
01:54They decided, Lindy decided, Carrick, Malenstein, Kozak.
