00:01Let's continue on topic and for that let's recover our contact with our colleague in Boston, Massachusetts.
00:08Welcome Dan Albright to From the South.
00:09What can you tell us in these past couple of hours of voting that has taken place?
00:15Good morning Luis and thank you.
00:17Yeah, I'm outside of Boston City Hall, which is a polling location,
00:22but it's extremely quiet here in land of basically secured victory for Democrats.
00:28There are some ballot questions to the voters that are significant, but Democrats are basically assured victory here.
00:39So across the country, key factors to look out for.
00:44Before any votes are counted, campaigns are already telling us where they're worried.
00:50Final advice show where both parties are seeing danger.
00:54Republicans outspent Democrats by nearly $50 million in competitive races in the final week,
01:05while Trump's own super PAC poured tens of millions of dollars into Senate defenses in Texas, Michigan and Ohio.
01:14Democrats, meanwhile, made late investments in traditionally Republican states like Kansas and Iowa.
01:24If you look at Trump's travel in recent weeks, he did this final stretch of stumping in places like Mississippi,
01:32South Carolina, Florida, Florida, Iowa, Kansas, all pretty much deep red states.
01:40So that sign signals that he's on the defense.
01:45So what to look out for today as votes start being counted?
01:51First, first, the turnout.
01:53The Democrats have the advantage in enthusiasm going into voting polls show.
02:00But Republicans have invested heavily in turning out their base.
02:05Then watch margins as the polls close.
02:08That happens first on the East Coast in the Eastern time zone.
02:12Then the central states.
02:16South Carolina on the East Coast will be an early test to look at.
02:21Democrats don't necessarily even need to win there.
02:24But if Republicans struggle, this could signal a much broader problem for them.
02:29And also watch in Republican held House districts in places like Virginia, Kentucky, Florida.
02:37If Democrats are overperforming, even if they're not winning in seats that Trump comfortably carried in 2024,
02:47we could be looking at a wave.
02:50From Boston, Dan Albright, back to you.
02:53Thank you, Dan, for the information.
02:55Of course, we're going to stay in tune for all those aspects that you were mentioning.
02:58Let's not...
