00:00Analyzing deeper the importance of midterm elections and for that as it
00:04continues to unfold especially in the east of the country let's go live to
00:07Miami Florida with our colleague Carlos Montero who is there to report on how
00:12these midterm elections is unfolding in these first early hours. Welcome Carlos
00:17to From the South. What can you tell us from where you are?
00:21I can tell you so far so good. It's a very nice morning. Supposed to rain, it's not
00:26raining that's going to help people go to vote. Half an hour ago they opened the
00:32center so that I mean you see all the political propaganda people who live in
00:36the USA been getting all this every day phone calls and all kind of because it's
00:43not only for the they are they can vote for the Chamber of Democrats or the Senate
00:49they can governor is going to be here also they can vote and also there are
00:53different amendments. Vote yes on Miami referendum number three. Let me show you
00:58over there. It's the 290. Vote no on referendum number three. The number three is
01:06for protect Virginia Keys. There are many many things that are here for people to
01:12decide but the process is very simple. It takes no more than five seven minutes if
01:17you know who you are going to vote for. Donald Trump yesterday a you know
01:23everything is showing you that maybe Donald Trump is going to be a change of
01:27power in this country. There are the Republicans who hold the two chambers the
01:32Senate and the demo and the representative they are going to lose it. What
01:37Trump was saying here they are candidates they are very extremist. We are in a very
01:42difficult situation in the USA. I want to give you an example. I want to show you this
01:48this sign. Here we see the two faces of this country a country that's divided. In here on my
01:58right my Maria Elvira Salazar. Maria Elvira Salazar very close ally to President President Trump. She's
02:07running for Congresswoman of the District 27 a district. Most of the people are
02:13Latin. You were talking about the Hispanic community. Extremely to the right. But
02:17what Trump mean when he said extremist? Whoever who think different than Trump for
02:23him is an extremist. We have Angie Nixon. Angie Nixon is running for the Senate. She's
02:31competing against Ashley Mood. Ashley Mood. She took the position of the Florida Senate when Marco
02:40Rubio left to become the Secretary of State. So they're going to be only two years. She's part of a
02:46movement that's called Socialist Democrat of America. And in this part of the United States or
02:54even people who follow Trump to hear Socialists really scare them. But what they want a better life
03:00for the American people. A better health. A better education. That the black community
03:06has the same right. It has the white community. But Angie Nixon today she's representing here in
03:14Florida the Social Democrat. It's the Democrat Party. Some members went to the right. She went to the left.
03:22Bernie Sanders is another case. Ocasio-Cortez. Maybe you know her. She's also from that movement. So far
03:30the numbers they are ahead a little bit Ashley Mood. But Angie Nixon she's been moving a lot doing a
03:37lot of
03:37campaign. Let's see what's happened. The governor is so far a Republican is ahead. Byron Donald over
03:44David Jolie. And we are going to see here Maria Elvira Salazar. She's competing against other
03:50journalists. Former journalist Elliot Rodriguez. She's ahead a couple of points. But we don't know what's going to
03:56happen. We have a long, long hours in front of us. Seven o'clock they are going to close the
04:03central ports. And then let's see what's happened. If all those projections are right or they were wrong
04:09what like happened in another country. But so far we are here waiting to see the whole of the day
04:15how to advance. But I'm going back to you to the studio. Thank you very much Carlos for this early
04:21report
04:21on how things are taking shape over there. Well of course we're going to stay in touch for
04:25for more news on how things are developing in upcoming news brief. But let's continue on.
