This short film, under a minute long, presents The Collective at One Sophia, the residential towers of One Sophia at the corner of Sophia Road and Selegie Road in Singapore's District 9.
It starts with the essentials on screen: a 99-year leasehold tenure, 367 homes, the vendor Sophia Residential, and Bencoolen station on the Downtown Line about 500 metres away on foot. A location card places the site on Sophia Road, and then five artist's impressions show the shared spaces: One SOcial on level 19, the Azure Pool beside the gym on the 3rd-storey deck, the Games Room, The SOcial Club and the residential drop-off and lobby.
Behind the pictures: two towers of 19 storeys, with 10 homes on a typical floor of Block 1A and 12 in Block 1B. Layouts go from studios to three-bedroom luxury types, roughly 431 to 1,249 sq ft. Pocket gardens called Sky Alcoves are set into the towers on the way up. ADDP Architects and studioMilou designed the development, and Tinderbox Landscape Studio the gardens.
The neighbourhood is a walker's one. The School of the Arts, NAFA and LASALLE are a few hundred metres away, Plaza Singapura and the top of Orchard Road are close by, Tekka Centre and Little India are across Selegie Road, and Mount Emily Park is up the hill.
