00:13and today I'm dying my hair pink. I'm dying my hair pink because this is cute
00:19but it needs a little extra razzle-dazzle. I've already dyed my hair
00:25green, purple, orange, red. I've done blonde and 30 shades of brown. The last color I
00:33need is pink. This is my first time getting my hair dyed at a professional
00:39hair salon. After dyeing my hair I'm hoping to have a Cosmo and Wanda moment
00:44where I get spotted in the street with a friend that got green hair. I expect to
00:49feel refreshed, lively, just like that bitch. Hi Jess, I'm Daley. Welcome. Hi I'm

01:09for hair color and I'm also known for cutting curly hair. Before I put the pink
01:14on I'm gonna do some swatches of different color pinks so that you can kind of pick
01:18from those and see which one you really really like. I'll be flying it. Yay! I'll be right back.
01:24In this process what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna mix a powder lightener with
01:29developer and apply it to her hair all over and she's gonna sit with it for a
01:34while. I'm gonna get Jess's hair to a pale yellow which is about a level 10. I
01:42think this pink is gonna look incredible on Jess one because I think that she has a
01:46really daring and really spontaneous personality. She has beautiful eyebrows,
01:52beautiful facial structure, she has gorgeous hair. It's amazing short and I think that
01:57this is just gonna be a real accent onto what she already has. I prefer my hair
02:03short because I feel like it brings out my features. I feel like having my big hair, it
02:10all got lost. I was mostly hair, not enough face and now all you can see is my face and
02:17I like to serve face. Cutting my hair short was always something I wanted to do. When I
02:23brought it up to my mom she was so angry with me like she did not want to talk to
02:28me. Around my birthday she was kind of salty still and she was like come we're
02:33gonna cut your hair. It took like hearing from other people that it looked great for
02:38her to be like oh I mean it is kind of cute. I guess I did do a good job.
02:42So
02:43dyeing it now is a whole nother story. So after I shampooed Jess I'm gonna put the
02:50Olaplex into her hair for about five minutes and let it sit there as a
02:54treatment before I tone her hair with the pink. I pretty much laid out the
03:02different colored pinks that we have so tell me which ones you like. Maybe
03:05somewhere in between this coral and this hot pink. Yeah maybe we can mix them
03:10together and get some of that really strong pink saturation but still some
03:14of the softness of the coral. I'd like that a lot. Alrighty I think we got it.
03:22So now I'm going to use a special mix of pink and apply it to Jess's hair section
03:29by section making sure that everything is fully saturated with color so that it
03:34comes out as vivid as possible. Jess is always welcome to come back maybe once a
03:39month for a color refresher or she may want to watch it fade and it as it goes
03:44from a really saturated pink to a light pink to a baby pink to a very subtle
03:49mauve. I went to the Aveda Institute for Cosmetology about 12 years ago. I have a
03:56lot of art in me so hair color is an extension that I've made into a
04:00professional career. Some of the things that I really love about being a salon
04:04owner is the ability to really help women discover and create a look for
04:10themselves that they love and they like. I think people are taking a lot more
04:13liberties with their hair and are very unafraid to walk around with things
04:18that they desire or have always fantasized about. The moment the big reveal. Pretty
04:24and pink here we go. Oh my god I'm pink.
04:41So the last thing that I'm going to do it's molding the hair to your head. So I'm
04:46going to use a little wrap foam and then I'm going to use the oil that I make which
04:49is a hair oil. So one is for styling and one is just for moisture.
04:54Just brush this down.
04:59I feel like a fairy thing.
05:02First of all I love it. Second, this is brighter than I expected but I think that's
05:09what I needed. I feel like my pink was a little too safe but I love this. I love this
05:16gradient. It's subtle but it's doing a thing. Outside of the salon for Jess in
05:23terms of maintaining her creative color, she can go to her local beauty supply
05:27store and find a color, a demi-permanent or semi-permanent, which is close to the
05:33color that she desired or that she got here. I can't wait to show my mom. I can't
05:37wait for her to see it too.
