00:00I miss having long hair so much. I'm excited but I'm scared because I'm
00:05scared to take care of them. Hi, I'm Sierra Furtado and I'm getting extensions
00:10today. I've been wanting to get extensions for so long. I recently chopped
00:14my hair off and I was so sad because I just love long hair. I'm Chrissy from
00:20Habit Salon. We've had Habit in Gilbert, Arizona for about 22 years. We're so
00:25excited because today Sierra is coming in from California. She's never had
00:29extensions before and she's always wanted to have brighter blonde hair and I
00:33think it will look so amazing on her so we chose to do that as well.
00:40Okay, Sierra, I'm so excited. You're going to be talking about this forever. Yeah. We
00:45already talked about like what length you want and color. We're just gonna brighten
00:49it up. Yes. Maybe make it a little blonder and then I mean I kind of want it to do
00:54like my length, don't you think? Or longer. Or longer. Yeah. The longer the better.
00:58Sounds good. Okay, let's get started. Let's do it.
01:04We will start putting in the beads and we don't do them super tight because we
01:08don't want them to be irritating and we're gonna sew the hair on and then we
01:13will do the next row.
01:17So I'm getting three rows and I feel like that's kind of a lot so that's a little
01:21scary but yeah, I'm kind of scared to sleep with them. I don't know like if they
01:26get tangly or not. So far, so far they don't hurt. The beads. I think that's what
01:32they're doing. I don't know. But my mom has had them before and she says that
01:39they're fine. She literally went swimming in the ocean for a month straight with them
01:43and it was literally just like her regular hair.
01:49I started doing hair in like 1994. In 2000, the whole clip and extension thing
01:56started. They didn't have a lot of options of colors so I got really good at
02:01coloring and customizing them. Me and all my assistants discovered the habit extension
02:07method. With this method there isn't tension on your scalp so that way your hair can
02:12keep growing and stay thick. The best method I've ever ever found that I would
02:16use on myself and use on my clients and have them feel confident even when we took
02:20them out.
02:24So then we're gonna baby light up the back taking small sections doing mostly her
02:30root because she's mostly blonde already. We want her to have a cute money piece so
02:35that it's really bright and fun and beachy but I also want it to grow out good. I want her
02:39roots to be really natural and not a straight line when it grows out.
02:46So usually I tell my clients a lot of people coming from out of town. Most people
02:50were doing a makeover. Most people were doing like a color makeover and extension
02:53makeover. I like to do both at the same time because it can really blend
02:57everything together. Then we will let it process and we will wait till it's done and
03:03then we will go ahead and tone her up.
03:10So first we are going to smudge the root and we're going to use like a level nine because
03:14I want it to be really bright still but I want to kind of diffuse that line a little
03:19bit.
03:23And then we'll wash out her toners. We'll bring her back and we'll dry her up and then we will
03:29wave her up.
03:30Keep it that beachy, summery, fresh, amazing look and she is good to go.
03:36So this is Sierra's ending.
03:42It feels so good. It feels like my real hair. I mean I need to get used to it still
03:47but it feels really comfortable. It doesn't hurt.
03:50I love long hair. I just always feel better with long hair. So I'm excited about it.
03:55We had so much fun working with Sierra. She's so cute.
03:59We loved giving her a makeover and I feel like she looks amazing.
04:03I think she feels more confident and I think she really likes it also.
04:07Next to Ciao.
04:07Thanks again.
04:08Thanks a listen.
