00:00Trusting your instincts isn't always easy, but when you do, the world opens up to you.
00:05My name is Amelia, and I'm a director. Welcome to my world.
00:13The first time I stepped on set as a director, I was 11. As someone who didn't really fit in
00:19in
00:19high school or middle school, I didn't have a lot of friends. I was really shy and really
00:24introverted, so when I stepped on set, I was like, oh my god, this is what it feels like to
00:28belong.
00:28This is what it feels like to be in the right place at the right time. It's my favorite part
00:33of directing and being on a set, that feeling of belonging. So, yes, I am a director, but that's
00:40not all I am. We're more than our labels, and we tend to forget that a lot of the time.
00:45We forget
00:45that we're multifaceted, complex beings that have different interests. I find inspiration in many
00:51places. I think directing my latest LG campaign helped me realize that I'm not just this one
00:56thing, you know? The whole concept was amazing. It was all about connecting these awesome young
01:01artists through what made them special and what made them unique. LG gave me a lot of independence
01:05and creative freedom on this project and allowed me to make it my own.
01:09What makes you special and what makes you unique is also what makes you belong.
01:14I think life's good when you find your place in the world. Over time, I've come to realize that
01:18belonging is not about where I am geographically. It's more of a state of being. What makes you different is
01:24what makes you special. Trust your instincts.
