00:00To me, hair means feeling confident, feeling beautiful.
00:05When my hair is done and I look my best, I feel my best.
00:09Hi, I'm Caroline, and today I'm getting fringe bangs.
00:12I wanna get fringe bangs today
00:14because I've always had the same exact haircut
00:16my entire life.
00:18I've always really experimented with different hair colors,
00:20but this is basically what my hair has always looked like.
00:24I specifically wanna get kind of fringe curtain bangs.
00:27The inspiration for this look are some of my biggest style icons,
00:31Dakota Johnson and Alexa Chung.
00:33They've been rocking fringe bangs for so long now.
00:35I'm definitely not worried about the bangs getting into my face.
00:38However, I am worried about the maintenance of bangs
00:41and having to style them every day.
00:42It's definitely something that I'm not used to,
00:44especially in quarantine,
00:45so it will definitely be a bit of a challenge at first.
00:51Hi, I'm Daniel, and I'm a cut specialist at Salon Kazumi
00:54in Beverly Hills, California.
00:57Hi, I'm Daniel.
00:58Hi, I'm Caroline.
00:59Nice to meet you.
01:00Nice to meet you too.
01:01We're gonna do bangs on you today?
01:02Yes.
01:02The ideal candidate for bangs would differ
01:04on the type of bangs that you would want.
01:06If you want more of a fringy curtain bangs,
01:09that actually goes with any type of face shape,
01:11but if you want more of a solid fringe,
01:14like straight across,
01:16I would say if you have more of a longer face
01:19that's more suitable for you.
01:20It's super important for me to make sure
01:23that my clients feel safe in the salon.
01:26We follow guidelines,
01:27so we make sure that not only are we safe,
01:30but you are as well.
01:32We're gonna go for something more French-inspired,
01:35kind of more wispy.
01:36Totally.
01:36Yeah.
01:37Cool. I'm excited.
01:38Let's get started.
01:39I am definitely anxious to see how they look like,
01:41since I've always had the same exact haircut.
01:43It's an idea that I've always toyed with,
01:46but today's finally the day.
01:48So, I'm first gonna establish
01:49how far back your fringe goes.
01:53So, I'm first gonna do the initial chop,
01:56a little longer than what we want.
01:59It's better to work slowly up,
02:01so I'm only gonna cut a little at a time.
02:07So, from there, I wanna layer just a tiny bit,
02:10so it gives a little bit of that movement.
02:16Just right in between the nose
02:18is where I'm gonna take it a little bit shorter.
02:24I think that's so cute.
02:25And then we'll style it.
02:26Awesome.
02:50Ready?
02:51Yep.
02:52There you go.
02:53Oh my God.
02:54I love it.
02:56Wow.
02:59Overall, I really love the bangs.
03:02I can't believe that they are actually on my head right now.
03:05It definitely felt really weird to feel the hair over my eyes,
03:09especially when he was cutting them,
03:10and then once they were actually complete
03:12and it stayed that way,
03:14I'm still getting a little used to it,
03:16but I know after some time,
03:17that feeling will become normal.
03:19I definitely felt really safe during the entire experience.
03:22Both Daniel and I were wearing our masks,
03:24everything was sanitized,
03:26and we definitely took extra precautions.
03:29Working with Caroline today was amazing.
03:32I know she had some hesitation,
03:33some fears in the beginning,
03:35but I knew that she trusted me,
03:36and I trusted her and the outcome was amazing.
03:41Having a different look than I've ever had before
03:43is really exciting.
03:45I can't wait to show all my friends and family,
03:48but it's also going to be a bit of a learning process,
03:52even just looking into the mirror
03:53and seeing myself with bangs is so surreal right now.
