00:01I try to look forward to the future as most as I can. I know some people don't
00:06do that because they don't think they have a future but I'm 19 and like I want
00:10to have a future. Action! I'm Brittany. I was diagnosed when I was 18. I went in
00:15February of 2015 because I found a lump and they said well you're 18 you're too
00:21young to get breast cancer and they sent me home. About three months later the
00:25lump was growing even larger and my nipple inverted and the very next day they
00:31called me in and they said you have breast cancer. I feel like being 19 with
00:37breast cancer is even harder. My life was just beginning and then I was told it was
00:41going to end. I remember my heart dropping and like asking God why is this
00:45happening to me because I was so young. This is the only type of breast cancer that can kill you
00:52and
00:53I think more people should be aware of that because they all focus on early
00:57stages but stage four needs more. When I was first diagnosed you know I was sad and
01:03upset and like it was hard for me and then I realized like no I can't be like
01:07this. I need to be positive. I need to look for the good. I kind of just realized it.
01:12I want people to know that yeah I have bad days and that you know one day that I
01:17will pass away from this but right now I'm okay and I'm doing well. I don't want
01:22people to feel sorry for me. I want to write a book about what it's like being
01:26diagnosed with metastatic cancer when you're 19 years old or 18. I'm actually
01:31going to college right now to become a better writer and that's what I'm doing to look
01:35forward to the future. Before cancer I had self-esteem issues and you know I didn't
01:43think I was beautiful and I just I struggled with that and then after when I
01:48was bald and boobless I found self-confidence and that's when I
01:52realized like I'm beautiful like just how I am.
