00:19business, family, friends, beach, you name it. I have to pack a lot and a little bit
00:23of time and a little bit of space because I'm a carry-on girl. You guessed it, this
00:26is our packing episode of Dear New York, so let's get started.
00:28To me, there are three essential steps to packing. The roller suitcase, the hand
00:34luggage, and the travel outfit. This is casual, baby.
00:43I like to lay out all my items, one by one and then all together, so I know what I'm
00:47working with and I can get a feel for the mood of my trip.
00:54Then it's time for it to get all in the bag.
01:00Next, I tackle my hand luggage. I pack toiletries and clutches, so I have purse
01:04options for my trip. I carry multiple books on me at once. If they're paperback, it should
01:09be no problem. Extra shoes to slip on when you get there. A notebook. Magnetic chest. Two
01:16pairs of sunglasses. And scarf options. The thing about flying is that you gotta look fly. This
01:25is my ideal travel outfit. Finally, the travel outfit. I always wear two jackets, so I have
01:31layers, jacket options for my trip, and extra room in my roller. I always wear my chunkiest
01:36shoes on the plane. It saves room in the roller and these are one zip off for security. Finally,
01:42the travel scarf. And my favorite tip is wearing a neck scarf, which can double as an eye mask, if

01:50want to catch some Zs. And finally, the hardest part, making the flight.
