00:00Hey everyone, it's Taylor from Refinery29.
00:02The number one myth for glasses wearers is that you shouldn't wear too much makeup if
00:06you are wearing glasses.
00:07But it's actually the opposite.
00:08You want your eyes to pop and to be defined, so you actually want to wear a little bit
00:12more makeup than you normally would.
00:14And today I'm going to show you how to not only do that, but how to pick the colors that
00:17are going to make your eye color pop the most.
00:19First things first, you're going to want to choose colors that are warm in tone.
00:24That's going to be coppery browns and anything that's on a brighter orangey side.
00:28Anything that's cool or gray is just going to make you look like you have a black eye
00:31under your frames.
00:32Today I'm going to be using a couple of shades out of the Lorac Pro eyeshadow palette.
00:36I'm going to start with a really light color on the lid and work something a little bit
00:39brighter into the crease.
00:41So I'm actually going to use a combination of the white and the cream.
00:45I think the white would be too severe and the cream would be too light and I want to get
00:48a really nice pop of light color on the lid.
00:52And I'm going to just use a dense brush to add that color right to the inner corner of
00:56the eye.
00:58Because we want our eyes to pop, the lighter the color on the lid, the better.
01:02And I'm going to pull the color up onto the brow bone, but do a very light wash.
01:08After we've got the base on, you want to go in with a lighter shimmery color just in the
01:11inner corner of the eye on the lid.
01:13So I'm going to use the nude color from the palette.
01:18And we're just going to put it right here.
01:21Now that we have the light color down, we're going to go in with a warmer brown into the
01:25crease to define the eye.
01:26Using the same brush, I'm going to pick up this sort of bright, neutral color called
01:31Sable.
01:31This is a red-based brown, so it's going to pop once you put it on the lid.
01:36So to find where you want to place the brown color, you're going to look in the mirror
01:39and with your eyes open, tilt your head back.
01:41It's going to go right above the crease onto this sort of orbital right here.
01:47And I'm just going to place the color first.
01:49You want to avoid the lid, so you want to stay in the crease and above the crease with this
01:54color.
01:55We don't want to mess up the lightness that we put on the lid.
01:57Once we've placed the color, we're going to go in with a fluffier brush in the same tone
02:03and blend the color out.
02:05Again, avoid getting on the lid with this.
02:11Now this is just going to create a really dramatic crease for us.
02:14Since we have the frame sort of covering up our eye, this is going to really help the
02:18eye pop out.
02:19Now another trick for glasses wearers is you don't want to do a lot of color underneath
02:22the eye because it can just make you look really tired and make your whole eye area look
02:26dark.
02:26So we're actually not going to do any shadow and no liner underneath the lash lines.
02:31We're going to keep it all up top.
02:32I'm going to put a little bit more color into the crease and then we'll go in with liner.
02:41You want to define the eye really well with a solid, thick line.
02:45So I'm going to go in with a gel liner by MAC.
02:47This is their fluid line in Dip Down.
02:49It's a deep brown color as to not contrast with the blackness of the frames I'm wearing.
02:53So I'm going to start on the inner corner of my eye with a really, really thin line, keeping
02:58in mind that we don't want to darken that inside corner of the eye.
03:01So to do that, I'm actually going to start the line in the middle, work my way out and
03:06then we'll fill in the inside as we go.
03:18You want to taper the line off as you get closer to the inside corner of the eye, keeping the
03:22inside completely free of liner.
03:27And then you want to make the lash line a little bit thicker and making the line on the liner
03:34thicker towards the outer corner.
03:36This is just going to open the eye up even more and make them look huge under your frames.
03:40Now the last step for making your eyes pop behind your frames is to create a solid brow.
03:44A lot of people think that because you're wearing eyeglasses and they cover up your brows sometimes
03:48that you don't have to define them, but that's just not true.
03:52So I'm going to use another color from the Lorac Pro palette.
03:55This one's called Espresso and it's just a deep brown that matches my hair color.
04:07And there you have some simple tricks for making your eyes pop under your glasses.
04:11Espresso and it's here
