00:06Hey everyone, my name is Rachel Wade and I'm a makeup artist here in New York City with a
00:10business called Cheek2Chic and today I'm going to show you two really cool edgy ways to do your
00:16eyeliner. The first one is sort of a playful take on something traditional and the second
00:21one is going to kind of zhuzh it up and give you a little something fun and colorful. So for
00:26the
00:26first look you want a Kohl pencil in your favorite color, some sort of gel liner and
00:31an angled brush. For the second look it's nice to have a dark powdered shadow and
00:37then another eyeshadow that matches your Kohl liner, a blender brush and any sort
00:42of small eyeshadow brush to fill in that corner. This is our lovely model Kishana
00:46and we are going to start out first with the playful take on something
00:51traditional. Today we're going to do a turquoise color which is really going to
00:54show up and give a nice bright effect. So go ahead and run that inside what we
00:58call the water line. You can pull your eye down just like you're doing and just go
01:02ahead and generously go back and forth. Kind of want to tickle it back and forth
01:07and make go all the way towards your nose and now go over that a good three or four
01:13times. You want a generous amount of eyeliner in there. And now you're going to go
01:21ahead and just run it a little bit into the lash line on the bottom. Just a little
01:26bit back and forth. We want it just to be a little blurry, a little smoky, so it
01:30doesn't look quite so severe and clean. Concentrate a little bit more on the outer
01:34corner. Great. And sometimes it's nice to just take your fingertip and run it
01:39underneath and kind of melt it together. Fingertips are the unsung hero of the
01:45makeup tools. The next step is you want to take some sort of gel-based eyeliner. You
01:51could use liquid liner if you wanted to. And take a slanted brush, dip it in and
01:56then go ahead and draw a nice clean line all along your top lash line as close to
02:02the lashes as possible. And now you're going to do the bottom but only the outer
02:08third. So just draw a little bit in on that outer third. And we want to blend
02:14that into the turquoise.
02:24And then just to finish it off, bring that upper line out just a little bit and then
02:29connect it with the bottom line so that you create a little bit of a point on the
02:35outer corner of your eye. Perfect. Just remember that coal liner that you use
02:44inside can be any color you want. Try a purple, try a green, try a blue. So the
02:50second look you can do alone or you can build from the first look, which is what
02:53we're going to do right now. So dipping your slanted brush in a black powder liner,
02:58you're going to start at the outer corner of your eye where the liner meets and
03:03you're going to draw very gently right into the crease. And this time do it one
03:09more time and go just a little quicker. Get it nice and clean.
03:15All right, now taking a blender brush and just softly trace over it. Just keep
03:22blending it so it softens up a little bit. Back and forth, back and forth.
03:30And now to sort of finish this look up, you want to take a small eyeshadow brush and dip
03:37it into the turquoise color and then just gently fill in that outer corner right there. Great.
03:45And grab the blender brush again and then blend it all together. So here's a really great edgy look
03:53using the black and the turquoise. And what's fun about it is the turquoise sort of softens up the
03:58black a bit and keeps the relationship between what's happening on the bottom of
04:02your eye to what's happening on the top of your eye. So there you have it. Two really
04:07cool edgy ways to do your eyeliner. You can see it doesn't take very many products but
04:12the payoff is fantastic.
