00:03Hey everyone it's Taylor with Refinery29. As party season approaches we could all use a new
00:07makeup look in our bag of tricks. So today I'm going to show you a new take on a smoky
00:11eye that
00:12works equally as well with a dark lip as it does with a light. So if you wear foundation you're
00:16going to want to start with that. Then going into the cheekbones we're going to add a little bit of
00:19highlight to the very top of the cheekbone kind of close to the under eye area just to give us
00:24that little extra party move. I'm going to use the CK1 skin illuminator in cool which is a really
00:30liquidy highlighting cream. I'm just going to put it really close on the high planes of the cheek.
00:41Now if you have drier skin you can apply this almost in the areas you would do a bronzer down
00:45the bridge of the nose and on the chin as well but since I'm oily we're not going to do
00:49that.
00:52Now let's move on to the eyes. So I'm going to start with the ELF Jumbo Eyeshadow Stick in Rock
00:57Out which is a really metallic gray gunmetal color. This thing's pretty cool because you can apply it
01:03with your fingers after you've gotten it on. So going in with the Jumbo Stick we're going to apply
01:08the eyeshadow just to the crease and underneath the eye leaving the lid completely bare. You're
01:13going to be able to find where to place it on your lid by looking into the mirror and tilting
01:17your
01:17head back. You can go in and smooth this out since it's cream with your finger to kind of make
01:23it
01:23look more blended. If you feel more comfortable you can go in with a fluffy brush just to blend the
01:31color out up towards the brow bone. Then I'm going to go in with a slightly darker shade of pencil.
01:38We're using the Smashbox Waterproof Shadow Liner in Charcoal just on the outer corners to add a little bit
01:44more definition. Same sort of technique with this too. Just tilt your head back and apply the shadow on the
01:52outer corner of your eye right up to the crease. Using the same brush we're just going to soften the
02:05line so it doesn't look like it was just plopped there.
02:13Now it's time for liner. For the eyeliner you want to use a very very dark black eyeliner so I'm
02:18going to be using the Revlon
02:19Luxurious Color Eyeliner in Black Velvet which is a really creamy coal like pencil that we're going to put up
02:26into the lash line as well as create a nice soft line.
02:50You want to top the whole look off with a super volumizing mascara so I'm going to be using the
02:54Maybelline Colossal Volume Express.
03:05Don't forget the bottom lashes.
03:15There you have it for the eyes. Now let's see what it looks like with the two different lip colors.
03:20So the first lip we're going to do with this eye look is a really pearly pink color.
03:24So I'm going to be doing this Chanel Rouge Coco Lip Shine in Boy.
03:37You want to make sure since this is for a party that the lip color that you choose is a
03:41little bit more impactful than just a gloss.
03:43That's why this lipstick works really well.
03:46So this first look is a really good look for anyone who wants to keep the emphasis on the eyes
03:51and keep the rest of the face looking more natural.
03:53But you can up the ante with an even deeper lip color.
03:57I'm going to be using the Becca Ultimate Color Lip Gloss in Berry Twist.
04:23So there you have it. A super easy to do eye that can take you from a very natural look
04:28to a very dramatic party look.
