00:10Today's episode is another in our series, High vs. Low, and today we're focusing on
00:15nail polish.
00:15Both of these nail polishes are completely covered up, so I'm going to be guessing which
00:19one is the high end and which is the low end.
00:21I've always loved painting my nails.
00:23I don't know anything about nail polish, so even if I saw the names, I still wouldn't
00:26know what was more expensive or less expensive.
00:28I have no idea what would make a nail polish high end vs. low end.
00:33I'm going to go into this with a lot of confidence and say that I'm going to crush it.
00:36I am not confident at all, so let's get started.
00:40I'm ready to dive in.
00:42I think I'm going to start with the square.
00:44Opening it for the first time.
00:47Ooh, look at that.
00:49That looks, ah, it's like velvety.
00:52It looks like it's going to be a pretty smooth paint.
00:54From my first observation, I'm going to say that this is a high end nail polish.
00:59The test, we're going to go on, okay.
01:02I know this is horrible technique.
01:03It goes on very smooth and it wasn't too thick.
01:07It doesn't flow a lot, so maybe that means that it's good.
01:11It's very gloopy.
01:12The color is pretty solid.
01:14You can't see through to my nail.
01:16When I applied the second coat, some of the first coat kind of came off.
01:21This might be high end, but I'm not sure.
01:24I guess we'll see how it compares to the second one.
01:26I'm going with the second bottle.
01:27Very tight lid, which to me says it's worth a lot.
01:30It's like Fort Knox.
01:31If it's hard to get into, it must be nice.
01:33I'm going to go ahead and open this one.
01:37Dang it, they have the same brushes.
01:40I'm going to go ahead and try applying it because I feel like that's really what's going to tell
01:44me what kind of nail polish this is.
01:46It has a little bit more color.
01:49It's like a little bit more vivid, but wow.
01:52This is nice.
01:54Ooh.
01:56The second coat is going on beautifully.
01:59It is much shinier than the first one.
02:01I think that's really the deciding factor for me.
02:03I already like this one more.
02:05It's darker.
02:07It's gone on less uneven.
02:09I think I prefer this one, so that leads me to believe if I have good taste,
02:14that this is the more expensive coat.
02:16This is the high-end one.
02:18I can just tell.
02:20My final guess is going to be that the square bottle is the high-end one,
02:24and the round bottle is going to be a little bit of a low-end nail polish.

02:30I win this nail polish.
02:32I'm going to guess that the square is the cheaper one,
02:35and that the round triangular one is the more expensive one.
02:40This is a rip-up.
02:41Absolute final decision.
02:43High-end, low-end.

02:47I was right, and this one is a little bit of a low-end.

02:58I would never spend $28 on a nail polish.

03:06which seems like a lot to me.
03:08And this one is Sally Hansen for $4.99.
