Watch as Candace from Refinery29 puts the Diva Sultra Pressing Iron to work.
Transcript
00:03Hi, this is Candice from Refinery29. I'm in the beauty test lab and today we're
00:07going to be trying out Soltris the Diva pressing iron which retails for about
00:11$210 and is available at Sephora. Alright, so this kit it comes with a
00:16ceramic sallying comb, the flat iron of course, and we also have the silicone
00:22iron mat which is really great so you can protect your surface items, and then
00:27some pressing cream so you can pre-treat your hair. Alright, so clearly you have
00:31really big, unruly hair. It's really frizzy, very dry. It doesn't really get that
00:37greasy but this morning I washed it and conditioned it and everything and I
00:40usually leave a leave-in conditioner in my hair but today I didn't decide to do
00:44that. I'll be using this instead, again the pressing cream, so it's really nice. I
00:50always use some kind of cream or some spray in my hair just to protect my hair
00:54from all of the heat so it doesn't break off too much. So, let's get started.
01:07Lather in just a little bit. Alright, moment of truth. Let's see if this works.
01:23Pretty impressed so far. Usually when I straighten my hair with my other flat irons,
01:28immediately after I touch it my fingers will just like be burnt and this didn't
01:33burn my fingers at all like right after I just straightened it just now.
01:39Alright, so overall I think everything's gone pretty well. It usually takes me about two
01:45hours, sometimes even three hours to straighten all of my hair but this time
01:50around I was about an hour, an hour and fifteen minutes which is pretty fantastic.
01:54I would give this product a pass. There were a few downsides. I didn't really care for the
02:00styling cream. It left a sticky residue in my hands and kind of on my hair making it feel
02:04a little like stringy. And then as far as like the price is concerned it was a
02:09little too pricey for me. I'd probably spend about 125-150 range for a flattening
02:14iron or straightener or anything like that. It cut my styling time in half. I
02:20usually spend like three hours straightening my hair and this was only
02:24about an hour so you cannot beat that. That was pretty great and I think it did a
02:28great job. Like overall I love the way my hair looks. I love the way how it feels. I
02:34think it's a pass.
