00:13Welcome to Test Lab where, you guessed it, we test stuff.
00:16Today we're testing out $28 mascara versus $8 mascara to see which one we prefer.
00:22This mascara is actually my favorite beauty product.
00:24Me too, because it's the only thing I know how to properly use.
00:26Let's get started.
00:30We both have the same mascaras.
00:33We will put one on one eye and one on the other and they've been covered up so we don't
00:38know
00:38what brand they are and which one is the higher end mascara versus the lower end mascara.
00:42Oh my gosh.
00:43I'm really excited because I feel like this is the longest I've ever not worn mascara ever
00:47in my life.
00:48A whopping 30 seconds.
00:49There are 30 seconds of no mascara so I need to put these on too.
00:52Alright, let's do it.
00:53We'll start with right hand.
00:55Right hand, right eye?
00:56Yes.
00:57Ooh.

00:59So what I like about this, whichever one this is, it's like clean.
01:03It like comes right out of the tube and out of the little like filter a lot cleaner.

01:08So maybe I'm thinking this is the higher end because of that.
01:11Sometimes I'm really intrigued by the different shapes of mascara brushes.
01:15Because you know sometimes they're like boom boom boom and they like they can promise what
01:18it will do to your eyelashes.
01:19So that's why maybe I'm doubting this one as the higher end one.
01:23So what is your technique to mascara application?
01:27I open my mouth because it just like makes your whole face like a little like more open.
01:31And I always sort of tilt my head so I can see the bottom.
01:35And then when I'm done like giving it a little bit of a base coat, I do this trick that

01:42when she was in Destiny's Child told Seventeen Magazine.
01:45I put the bristles in between both of my eyelashes and I blink and pull it out.
01:51Watch, I'm about to do that and I'm not going to like Beyonce.
01:54Blink into the bristles and roll the mascara out.
01:58Yes.

02:02I think this look is a little bit dramatic for me.
02:04Maybe it's just the way I put it on but mine feels a little clumpy.
02:09Are you ready for round two?

02:11Mascara number two.
02:12First impressions.
02:13It's a lot more liquid and a lot more of a pucker.
02:18Just from first glance with as much mascara goop as is coming out on this one.
02:23Yeah.
02:23And with the size of this, my first thought is that bigger isn't always better.

02:30But there's only one way to find out.

02:35As soon as I like touched my eyelash, I'm like, this is a lot product.

02:39Also, look at all of that.
02:41That just came off from one little pull.
02:43The coverage with this one isn't as great as the first one.
02:47It's taking a lot more manipulation for me to even cover all of my eyelash.
02:53So on the count of three, let's point to which eye we think has the higher end mascara.

03:04Oh yeah.

03:05And this one is clearly the lower end.

03:09This eye is the higher end and this eye is the lower end.

03:18I'm upset at myself because my first instinct was that this was the lower end one.
