00:00This is really going to help the defensive back.
00:02Speaks, I texted you during transition that, you know,
00:05what position does Jeffrey Simmons help out the most?
00:08And I think the position group that's celebrating the most right now
00:11at Hallis Hall is the DBs.
00:12You know, they've been putting on an island the entire season
00:15with the way Dennis Allen has to, you know, dial up pressure
00:18with the five, six, seven-man rush schemes that he's doing.
00:23And now he's not going to have to do that.
00:24He's going to help out the DBs a little bit more.
00:26And that's just what Jeffrey Simmons brings.
00:28He brings, you know, I talk about game plan guys,
00:31and he is one of those where you put a giant star, red mark,
00:35whatever you call it, right next to his name when you install that
00:38during the week because you have to count for him every single play,
00:41whether it's the run game or pass game.
00:43So you have the complete player.
00:45And I fell in love with him coming out of the draft.
00:47I just thought he was, you know, he got drafted, what, 18 or 19 or something.
00:51I thought he was one of the better, if not the best,
00:53D-tackles coming out.
00:55And to be able to get him now as a seasoned veteran, you know,
00:57everybody's talking about his age at 29 years old.
01:00You look at his stats, he only got better as he played more.
01:03And I think he's right into his prime.
01:05If you get three or four years out of this guy, you know,
01:09in the prime of the upcoming prime of Caleb's career,
01:13you've got two guys, one on offense and one on defense,
01:17that could be the best in the league at their positions.
01:19I love what you're saying about the DBs,
01:22like the idea that they don't have to cover for forever,
01:25or they can actually take some chances because the ball's got to come out
01:28because Jeffrey Simmons or Montez Sweat,
01:31or even if they blitz Kyler Gordon, the ball's got to come out.
01:35And now you can break on the ball instead of waiting to see what happens.
01:40Yeah, there's no doubt about it.
01:42And the other thing with Jeffrey Simmons, you can move him around that D-line.
01:45I wouldn't be surprised.
01:46There's a couple times they put him at D-end.
01:48There was one I went back, and I enjoy watching tape.
01:51I went back and watched his game against the Browns last week,
01:53and they flipped him out to D-end.
01:56I'm like, Dennis Allen's going to have a field day with this guy.
01:59He's going to put him everywhere.
02:00It's going to take a couple weeks to get up to speed,
02:02but he can step right in and play this week on Monday night.
02:05But, yeah, he's a guy that's just fascinating
02:09because he can dominate from any position,
02:12and it's going to be fun to see what Dennis Allen does with him
02:14because he is so creative with his guys,
02:16and he lines up guys in such multiple positions.
