00:17and welcome on a rainy night the heavens opened earlier and it just hasn't relented my name is
00:24Derek Ray and I'm joined for commentary by the former Arsenal and West Ham player Stuart
00:28Robson and it's all about action from MLS it's DC United and they take on Toronto FC well we've got
00:36everything needed for a good game here two motivated teams a vibrant atmosphere and some very good
00:41players let's hope we're not disappointed well here is the lineup for the hosts today well this
00:50system gives them a good defensive base a well-drilled back four a solid midfield with wide
00:55players tucking in and two forwards who can press the ball but does it provide enough fluidity going
01:00forward I'm never sure
01:07and introducing the visitors lineup today well in this four five one as you would expect it's a very
01:13compact back four a midfield five with a mixture of qualities and a front player who will threaten
01:18the space in behind the opposition it looks a good team to me
01:32and take a good team
01:59Thank you for joining us.
02:01Now get ready for a great match.
02:24So the first half begins.
02:27Let's see what unfolds.
02:34Jonathan Osorio.
02:41That's a good-looking ball.
02:43Now they stop them in their tracks.
02:58Nicely timed tackle.
03:08Decent idea.
03:14Very quick thinking there.
03:31Showing a lot of guile there.
03:35Can he put them in front?
03:37Reading it well.
03:40And that's a real commitment to defending.
03:50Who can he pick out?
03:52Disappointing delivery.
03:53Sailing over everyone in the middle.
04:06Oh, he's left as marker for dead.
04:11In it goes!
04:13The goal for 1-0.
04:14And that changes the dynamic.
04:23Well, here we can see it again.
04:24Look at the way he glides past the defender to create space for himself.
04:28And he makes no mistake with the finish.
04:30He showed a lot of composure there.
04:32So the ball rolling again with the scoreline standing at 1-0.
04:37Mati Peltola.
04:47And a good challenge to bring that attack to an end.
04:57Well, this could really help the cause.
05:00And the defence regaining control.
05:02Well, that was excellent defending.
05:04Just made it very difficult for them.
05:06And he has options available.
05:15Is this the moment?
05:17Oh, what a save!
05:21Oh, what a save!
05:48And over it comes.
05:50Now, still an issue here.
05:55And it's all rather fizzled out.
06:05And a fine tackle.
06:11Hopkins.
06:12Oh, breezing past him.
06:17But no damage done.
06:18That's the main thing.
06:19And a chance to whip it in here.
06:21This could level it.
06:23And it is the equaliser.
06:26Parity now.
06:27And who's to say what's going to happen next?
06:41Well, it's a very simple finish in the end.
06:43But his movement was really good.
06:45He just found himself a bit of space in the box when it mattered most.
06:57Back on the way.
06:59Level pegging.
07:00One goal apiece in this game.
07:08Well, a really single-minded piece of defending to make sure nothing untoward happened.
07:16Peltola.
07:20Interesting pass.
07:27And well-positioned to clear.
07:29Well, that is exactly what is needed.
07:31A good old-fashioned clearance.
07:34Really good challenge.
07:46Well, good run and good ball control.
07:51Oh, in with a chance.
07:53And fine goalkeeping.
07:56So, the whistle then.
07:58We're at the halfway stage in this match.
08:03I think most fans would be pretty happy with this man's display so far.
08:08Well, they weren't at their best.
08:10And there we have it.
08:11The first half is underway.
08:17And that's a real commitment to defending.
08:23Sergeant.
08:34You're out.
08:42You're out.
08:46You're out.
08:54You're out.
10:00Josh Sargent.
10:05Good run, this. Now, what can he do with it?
10:12Of a mind to shoot. Palmed away by the keeper.
10:24Can he deliver it with accuracy? And a decent clearance. Options opening up on the break.
10:32Well, spot on with that challenge.
10:40And up for grabs off the keeper.
10:43Just lost the way there.
10:48Now, this could be productive.
10:54Oh, that's a splendid play. Just the challenge that was required.
11:08And so, 30 minutes left for play in this one.
11:14Natural runner with the ball at his feet.
11:16But they dealt with the threat first.
11:23Luis Montejano.
11:26Plenty of support here.
11:33A real opening now.
11:35And it's an excellent save.
11:38Well, I always fancied the keeper to make the save.
11:40He's really good in those situations.
11:45So, deciding to make a personnel change at this juncture.
11:56Who's going to get on the end of it?
11:58And making sure it wasn't problematic.
12:12Successfully winning the ball back.
12:21Running with confidence.
12:30That's effective pressure.
12:32High up the pitch.
12:35For the lead here.
12:37And the keeper dealing with it.
12:41They will now make use of the substitute's bench.
12:58Let's see about the delivery.
13:01Still alive!
13:04Well, behind for another corner.
13:06Well, this is a big moment.
13:08And don't these fans know it?
13:12Well, pressure building.
13:13Another corner.
13:21Over it comes.
13:23Not completely out of trouble here.
13:27And the keeper stretching to deny him.
13:30Behind for another corner.
13:32Can they cash in?
13:41And short it is.
13:46Oh, they were in a decent position too.
13:48Really snuffed out the danger there.
13:51And now Henry.
13:54And they might break quickly.
13:59Quick thinking to win it back.
14:08Raw tension until the end, it looks like.
14:11Can they win it?
14:14Pressure kept high.
14:19Could be troublesome.
14:21Oh, he's blocked it!
14:25Five minutes to go.
14:29What can he do with it now?
14:34He's in behind.
14:36Oh, they've done it!
14:37They've forged ahead.
14:39And it might be the goal that gives them victory.
14:47Well, I won't get tired of watching this.
14:49It's an outstanding bit of play.
14:51Just look how far he runs with the ball.
14:53That's a great goal.
15:13So, underway again.
15:15And time is tight if they have designs on a comeback.
15:21well still pushing forward it's a matter of whether or not they can come up with an equalizer
15:27what about the stoppage time situation two minutes the word
15:31conditions for the counter
15:33and he's made headway
15:36and he's only gone and made it a hat-trick
15:39absolutely unplayable today
15:41what a performance
15:50well let's take another look and you have to say the defending is so poor
15:54that's far too easy the keeper had no chance there
16:02and so the final whistle here the visitors come out on top Stuart
16:07well fairly comfortable in the end wasn't it
16:09thought they controlled the middle of the park well
16:11going forward there was some really nice incisive play too
16:14it's a good result for them
16:28sergeant
16:30oh he's left his marker for dead
17:00said
