00:27Now, I don't know anything at all, really, when it comes to marketing.
00:30This is from Alani New, A-L-A-N-I-N-U.
00:34But the way that they've separated the two words from one another,
00:37and that this has a little droopy thing coming down from the hue,
00:41it actually does look like it says Alani New York, or the abbreviation of New York.
00:45I don't know if Alani's visited New York, but apparently packed inside of their cargo
00:49was a cauldron that had tentacles coming out of it.
00:53The tentacles, by the way, though, seem to be also holding candy caramel apples.
00:56Maybe that's the flavor of what this Witch's Brew is going to be.
00:59It has only zero grams.
01:01I say only, only would basically still mean there's a number.
01:04But the fact that it's being represented by a zero, I guess I couldn't really say it only has.
01:10It has no sugar, no sugar at all.
01:12Not just that, but it also has 140 milligrams of caffeine.
01:16It is vegan-free, and it's also glucose-free.
01:20So if you're worried that you're going to be consuming anything that has derived from an animal,
01:24I guess I knew it would technically be considered still an animal.
01:27It is at least vegan.
01:29Thank goodness for that, that the energy drink is vegan.

01:39Alani New, even though it does say really like Alani New York.
01:43The back of the jar, by the way, the back of the can,

01:52Oh, geez, I was hoping to get my daily dose of fiber inside of this energy drink.
01:56Sugar, again, is only zero.
01:58Sugar alcohols is also zero grams.
02:01Protein is zero.
02:02Cholesterol is zero.
02:03Just between you and me, by the way,
02:05when I start to see this many zeros on the back of any can,
02:08when it comes to what is contained inside,
02:10I know right away this thing's going to taste like club soda.
02:12It's going to have no flavor, no flavor at all.

02:21It has, hold on, there's space dust in the way of this.

02:51As for, though, the ingredients,

02:54we've got citric acid,
02:55we've got tartine, sodium,
02:57we've got stuff, we've got stuff.

03:02pregnant or breastfeeding women,
03:04or those individuals sensitive to caffeine.
03:07Do not drink more than one of these servings per day.
03:10High caffeine content.
03:12And then it says basically the exact same thing,

04:36But I guess if it really was caramel apple,
04:38which again, based at least on the way
04:40they've described and designed this can,
04:42and I'm thinking it's probably like a caramel apple.
04:44Caramel really is like a brown color.
04:47And I'm taking just a smell of that.

04:53where we have smell-o-tube.
04:55Some channels are a little worser to watch.

04:59But it does look possibly like it's a caramel color.

05:26What does a witch's brew taste like exactly?
05:29Well, let's give it a try and find out.
05:37Oh, there's a variety of surprises happening right now.
05:42It starts like it should really be like a sour apple.
05:46Then it starts to introduce other flavors
05:49I really wasn't again expecting.
05:51I taste a little bit of caramel.
05:53I taste a little bit of chemicals.
05:55I taste a little bit of almost like a beer,
05:59even though I'm sure there's probably no,
06:00well, there's none at all.
06:02If I'm looking again on the back of the can here.
06:05For this having zero grams,
06:07and let me just look at this again
06:08to make sure I've read this right.
06:10Yeah, zero grams of sugar.
06:13There is nothing at all in this can
06:15that tastes like it would have zero grams of sugar.
06:18It's full of flavor.
06:19However, it's full of sweetness.
06:21To tell me face to face that this has no sugar whatsoever,
06:25I would call you a fipper face.
06:27I would hope that we could still be friends
06:28after I would have called you a fipper face.
06:30But there, again, I feel like there's lots more sugar in there
06:33than what they're actually telling you.
06:35Zero grams.
06:36I certainly don't taste zero grams of sugar.
06:38Again, I taste some sour apple.
06:40I taste caramel.
06:41I taste like a cough syrup in there.
06:43There's just a lot of things thrown to the wall
06:45to see if they would stick.
06:46And apparently, when it comes to Alani Nu,

07:24I get the end kind of remaining flavors of caramel.
07:28But there's something right there in the middle.
07:31Maybe it's like, again, it kind of has, I guess,
07:33maybe a little bit of a Red Bull flavor.
07:35Mixed in there, though, with sour apple and caramel.
07:39There's a lot of medley of stuff going on here.
07:41Everybody is joining in on this journey
07:44that we're going down the road.
07:45But it's a strong flavor.
07:48I don't know, though, if I would probably want to...
07:51Drinking this only once, I think,
07:52would be more than enough for me.
07:53I like the flavoring of it,
07:54but I'm not really one that drinks a lot of energy drinks.
07:57If it really wasn't for the fact it says,
07:58Witches Brew on the front of the can,

08:16that you have to taste to experience.
08:17Because, again, it has apparently no sugar,
08:20but I could tell you, it's super sweet,
08:22and there's a whole lot of flavor
08:24being thrown inside this can.
08:26As a side note, though,
08:27I remember having a party in a high school...
08:29A high school Halloween party
08:31back in the days.
08:32I was probably liking grade two,
08:33and we had to make Witches Brew.
08:35Witches Brew, by the way,
08:35wasn't an energy drink.
08:36I don't think the teachers at that point
08:38were handing to two-year-olds,
08:39grade two-year-olds,
08:40grade twos, grade twos,
08:42Witches Brew energy drinks.
08:44But it consisted of like Welch's grape juice,
08:48ginger ale, and I think apple juice.
08:50It was kind of like all those three things mixed together.
08:52I don't know where this teacher came up with this recipe.
08:54Maybe it was passed down generation to generation,
08:56but that was the recipe.
08:58And I remember I had to go out
09:00and I had to buy the apple juice.
09:01I was the guy that was assigned...
09:03They said, you know,
09:04hey, can you go get apple juice?
09:06And back then,
09:07I don't know if we...
09:08Do they still sell them now,
09:09the cans, the tins of apple juice?
09:11Where you had the little triangular can opener,
09:14you had to pop in the top
09:15and it made like a little triangular shape,
09:16and then you would pour this tin of apple juice.
09:20I poured two jars, two cans,
09:22I guess two cans of apple juice.
09:24Welch's grape juice was thrown in there as well.
09:26And then the last finishing touches of that
09:29would have been ginger ale.
09:30That's back then what we would have thought
09:32was Witches Brew.
09:33Nobody at all cares about that story
09:35I just finished telling you guys about.
09:36The point though is,
09:38Alani Nu is a different, interesting flavor.
09:40It's worth trying,
09:41but I don't think after you've tried it
09:43the first time,
09:43you could ever probably want to try it again.
