00:00Much rather learn my lessons in a win than a loss.
00:03Yeah, there's some good things that happened.
00:06There's some bad things that happened.
00:08Yeah, we didn't learn very much.
00:10We knew very much.
00:11We knew very much.
00:12We confirmed a lot.
00:14Got reminded of a lot in a win.
00:17But better to do that in a win than a loss.
00:19Like this is, at the end of the day, it is like a good thing to win.
00:23Yep.
00:23There's a lot of things that still need to be cleaned up.
00:27And a lot of things that still need to be discussed.
00:29But, I mean, at the end of the day, you could not have lost this football game
00:34to this quarterback, to that backup, to a backup quarterback
00:38and a backup running back, essentially.
00:39Backup team.
00:40Backup team.
00:41No receivers.
00:42It's a bad team.
00:43It's bad right now.
00:44I mean, I have not seen a Philadelphia defense look that inept in God knows how long.
00:50And we got the protege of it.
00:51Yeah.
00:51We got the next.
00:52We got the next.
00:53The next man up, baby.
00:55Oh, yeah.
00:55I broke my emotional promise to myself.
00:58I kept it during Green Bay.
01:00I did not get high.
01:02I did not get low.
01:03I was Jason Garrett medium.
01:06But last night, while the Cowboys were doing what they did defensively with all the third
01:13downs and the penalties and Saquon beating you with one leg, I was losing it.
01:21I was totally, completely melting down.
01:23But that subsided there in the second half.
01:27Dak Prescott with three beautiful touchdown throws.
01:30Javante Williams with a career night.
01:32And the offensive line took over and was the story to me of this football game.
01:37Bobby Belt, who was on the postgame show.
01:39Yeah, and see, by the end, they won, and it wiped away all your negative feelings, unlike
01:45the head coach, who, when they won, it didn't wipe away the negative feelings.
01:49But, no, I don't feel, I was saying this last night, I don't feel any better about them
01:56necessarily this morning.
01:57I don't feel worse about them, though.
01:58In the last two weeks, I felt worse about them after the game.
02:01I was like, oh, they're even worse than I thought.
02:02Last night, at least, if you lose that game, especially to that team, you're done.
02:06Your season is over.
02:08And so, they extended their season.
02:11Hopefully, they built up a little bit of confidence.
02:13There were good things to see there.
02:14That DeMarvian overshown interception last night was insane.
02:17That looked like, okay, he's healthy, he's ready to play.
02:19Your only two interceptions are from linebackers.
02:22Yeah, hey, you gotta get them where you can.
02:25And the offensive line played really well.
02:27And Javante Williams played really well.
02:29And the passing game made plays when they needed to.
02:31I don't think Dak was sharp.
02:33No.
02:33But when they needed to play in the red zone or something else, they came through.
02:37The only part, it's not a positive, but the only kind of good thing about this defense
02:41sucking as much as they do and have throughout the first six weeks of the season is not coming
02:47in here after a loss, alarmed over that.
02:50It's like, all right, that's baked in.
02:52We know it's there.
02:54It's ingrained.
02:55So, it's not like I'm going to come in and start off with all the negatives of the defense
02:58because we know what the case is.
03:00But I was listening to Broadus and Brad Sham in the post, and I saw enough, I heard enough
03:07breadcrumbs being dropped that it sounded like Bobby.
03:10The offensive line sent a message within the building, whether it's the O-line coach, whether
03:16it's Tyler Smith, whether it's certain different players saying, put it on us.
03:21Let us run the damn football.
03:23And I heard Brad allude to it, I heard Broadus allude to it, so I'm expecting some confirmation
03:29there as the days go by that the offensive line said, enough is enough, and Troy Aikman
03:36is responsible for me winning money last night.
03:39Because Troy dropped it while he was busy trying to not make eye contact with Joe Buck.
03:45And he goes, whenever the announcer goes, I would expect blah, blah, blah.
03:49It's like, all right, well, the coach just told him that in the sit-down meeting.
03:53And Brian Schottenheimer told Troy Aikman, we're going to run the football, and Javante
03:58Williams is going to get a heavy workload.
04:00So boom, I just went on over to Javante, first half rushing yards, and I wish I would
04:05have bet a lot more.
04:06But thank you, Mr. Aikman, for going ahead and dropping that breadcrumb.
04:09But it sounded like the offensive line from within, they wanted more responsibility, and
04:15they wanted this.
04:17Yeah, I think the offense as a whole made it clear this week that they were not thrilled
04:20with the way the play calling went in the second half.
04:23And because they said in the broadcast, Dak said at one point, he wanted to be begging
04:29Schottenheimer at some point in the game to throw the football.
04:33So Dak was saying, run, run, run.
04:35Yeah.
04:36And then this is something where, you know, this is, I think that's probably a large part
04:41of the bubbling frustration that Schottenheimer has right now, it seems like, or discontent
04:50is that I don't think that this criticism is only hitting him from outside.
04:56I think there are times that people have been like, hey, what are we doing?
04:59Well, what are we doing here?
05:00And that can be, that challenges you in ways more than the media can.
05:06And so I think it's, I think it's been a tough week and, and they came out there and they,
05:11they won the game and look to their credit.
05:13They came out there and they, they committed to the run and were willing to say, okay, this
05:17is working.
05:17Let's go forward.
05:18Uh, I don't necessarily want to see you commit to the run so much that in a 28, 21 game
05:23in
05:23the fourth quarter, you go, let's hand it off to Hunter Lipke on third and eight from
05:26the 10.
05:26That's a bad, that was bad.
05:28That's bad.
05:28Anytime you're giving Hunter Lipke the ball, it's bad.
05:31But, uh, yeah, I mean, there were still some things last night that were a little frustrating
05:35from game management or play calling or other things, but it seemed like overall he was listening
05:40to what the players felt like they needed to lean into.
05:44Yeah, there was one time early in the game where I was like, so we, we hadn't known that
05:51they were going to establish the run this way.
05:52They didn't, I never felt throughout the course of the game that they passed when they should
05:56have ran outside of the, that's really sticking out to me outside of the first drive where
06:01they, you know, Williams picks up the 15 yarder and then a first down, they try to
06:05throw it.
06:05And I'm like, you just gashed them for a couple of plays in the ground.
06:08Like, let's see if this thing continues to work.
06:10And I wound up putting them a little bit behind the change.
06:12I had to settle for the field.
06:13Other than that, I was like, man, they committed to this run.
06:15They ran the ball effectively.
06:16Yeah.
06:17You got to credit the offensive line.
06:18You got to credit the running back on that one.
06:19I mean, you know, and I'm looking forward to hearing and post hot tomorrow at seven
06:2320.
06:24Well, we're going to have to figure out a different time, I guess, with Nick Harris.
06:28I want to hear how guard center guard looked because you're not supposed to be able to do
06:34this against Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis and big baby.
06:38I'm taking the new name from Glenn Robinson.
06:40Glenn Davis.
06:41Glenn Davis.
06:43Big dog was Glenn Robinson.
06:44Big dog was Glenn Robinson.
06:45Big baby Jalen Carter not wanting to speak to the media afterwards saying, y'all make sure
06:51you get home safe.
06:52And I said, no, Jalen, you make sure you get home safe with that driving record.
06:57But I can't wait to hear what the difference was with guard center guard or whoever else
07:03up front.
07:03Yeah, because offensive line, look, I mean, like, I mean, these were gaping MS Smith 90s
07:09holes early.
07:09Yeah.
07:10And I mean, Tyler Guyton did a good job.
07:11I know a few different times where it's like, OK, Guyton sealed something off.
07:14So Guyton stood out, BB.
07:17It looked like Tyler Smith was opening some stuff up.
07:20So we'll get a closer look at it today.
07:22But yeah, the offensive line really played well.
07:25And look, if they asked for it, if they asked for put it on us, let us do this.
07:30Let us run block.
07:30Because they would rather run block instead of pass block, like, all day long.
07:35Yeah.
07:35Every lineman would.
07:36But if they said, put it on us and let us do it this way, well, then you need to
07:41show
07:41up and show that your unit can handle that.
07:44Because you guys have not been good.
07:45To be fair, you can put a lot of criticism on shot.
07:48You still got to put a lot of criticism on.
07:49The offensive line hasn't been good since Tyler Smith got back.
07:52And the defense for taking them out of the run when they're getting their ass beat.
07:56So I think that the performance of the offensive line, awesome that you guys wanted on you.
08:01But even better that when it got put on you, you said, all right, here it is, that you
08:04went ahead and did it.
08:05These clips are not going to be very long.
08:08More on this at 640.
08:09Because there's something going on with Brian Schottenheimer with what happened in the post.
08:15Were you desperate to win this one?
08:17Shoddy, give us a good six seconds.
08:19That's what she said.
08:20Yeah, we played really good tonight, second half.
08:23Had nothing to do with desperation.
08:25Our guys just played good.
08:28All right.
08:28Wow, that's excellent.
08:29There's one.
08:30Let's try to double that up time-wise with what stood out to you about the performance.
08:35Yeah, just the patience and poise in the pocket, I thought, jumped off the film.
08:38You know, any time you, you know, throw the three touchdowns like that, the two-point conversion
08:43was great.
08:43He looked like, you know, he was in control out there all night.
08:48All right.
08:49We will get to that at 640 this morning.
08:52Yeah, just, like, really detailed.
08:54Yeah, well, he's ticked off, maybe a hurt little puppy dog, but we'll get to it.
09:01You asked Nick Eatman a question yesterday, Choppy, of, do you need to see more from the
09:05offense or the defense?
09:07I thought the answer was offense, because that's what I have to rely on.
09:10And that's what we got yesterday.
09:13So, I did feel good about that question.
09:15Again, you'd like to have a little bit of something from the other side.
09:19But it was more important for me, as my 25-point guarantee still stands.
09:24I didn't have the freezing cold take me about once last night.
09:27But they did not go ahead and give up the 25, so only two more games in a row.
09:31It felt like 25.
09:32After that 10-minute drive, were you like, uh-oh?
09:35Well, I was like, at least that's liberty possession.
09:37Yeah, that's got to help me on the scoreboard.
09:39Yeah, it's obvious.
09:40They smoked the over in this.
09:41Oh, they did.
09:42I mean, it was obvious once they, once the Cowboys took that 28-21 lead, they got the
09:46two-point conversion.
09:47I was like, man.
09:48Like, Philly came out, and it feels like, I don't know, either McKee forgot how to pass
09:52the football.
09:52Yeah.
09:53Or, you know.
09:54He gave them some breaks.
09:55He did.
09:55Or the Cowboys, you know, I can't say the Cowboys did stuff defensively, because, I mean, those
09:59those were bad throws.
10:00I don't think McKee knows how to pass the football.
10:02Yeah, it's like, okay, they got behind.
10:05They felt they needed, like, quick points, I guess.
10:08You know?
10:08I don't know.
10:09I don't know what that was, because they said that they abandoned.
10:11Of course, Barkley was limited anyway.
10:14That's the one thing.
10:15The most disappointing part of this whole game is that if Saquon plays this entire game
10:20at the full snap count, I think we're looking at a completely different outcome.
10:24Now, maybe, I'm sorry, completely different end of game.
10:27The outcome may have been the same.
10:28They may have found a way to win.
10:30But Barkley gashed them for the limited time he was out there.
10:34Yeah, I think it was nine.
10:35Nine snaps or whatever.
10:37Nine reps, nine touches.
10:38They're like, if you're going to be out there, we're going to give you the football.
10:40Then they're like, don't go over there and blow up your hamstring on the stationary, as
10:44he kept saying.
10:45I'm being smart.
10:45I mean, all I have to do is run half speed against these guys.
10:48Yeah.
10:48I'm still being smart.
10:49I can dominate these guys at half speed.
10:52And he did.
10:53And he did.
10:54Star up, star down is coming up at 620.
10:56Your Cowboys report card brought to you by Wild Fork Foods here on Sean, RJ, and Bobby.
11:02Here's the moment in the game which I thought started the turning point.
11:06So, Prescott now on first and ten.
11:10Snap is back.
11:12Has time.
11:13Fires it left side of the end zone for Lamb.
11:15Over the shoulder.
11:16Touchdown!
11:17Didn't drop that one!
11:20Reekwollen.
11:23Beaten.
11:23A little mint for your Lamb chop right there.
11:27Oh!
11:27Sam getting a little creative right there.
11:30This, to me, was the turning point.
11:32Lamb scores the touchdown in the third.
11:36Dak then has the two-point conversion run.
11:39So, it's 28-21.
11:41All right.
11:42Well, you're just going to give up another seven.
11:44It's going to be a tie score.
11:46Ezraku gets a sack, finally, after a Philadelphia hold.
11:51They're pinned deep into their own territory.
11:53They punt.
11:54Cowboy ball.
11:56Ferg.
11:57Pass interference.
11:59Javante, eight.
12:00Javante, 34.
12:02And then you get the third and eight run to Lipke, which we'll get into.
12:05But you got the field goal.
12:0631-21.
12:08Overshown with the highlight reel interception.
12:11And I thought right there was the turning point, even though I was not totally shutting
12:16this down game over with six minutes left.
12:18Brian Schottenheimer was.
12:20Because he's like, we'll just keep it a two-score game.
12:23And we'll just go ahead and run the football.
12:25I'm like, there's six minutes left.
12:26This is two touchdowns away.
12:28From an epic loss.
12:29But I thought that was the swing right there, starting with the CD touchdown.
12:33That was for me.
12:34When did you think it was over?
12:35Or when did you think the game turned?
12:37Tolos and Choppy.
12:39When it got to two possessions, I think it was 31-21.
12:45Yeah.
12:45That was the field goal.
12:46Yeah, that was it.
12:47I was like, eh, it's a backup quarterback.
12:49I know this defense is terrible.
12:51But you could already see Philadelphia.
12:54You could already see McKee just start to forget the position a little bit.
12:58He was inaccurate on the previous drive.
13:01I think at that point, I was like, all right, this is probably in the bag.
13:06Yeah, I mean, when they scored that touchdown to make it 28-21, I did start thinking in my head,
13:11like, all right, as much as Dallas hasn't been able to just stop them, I do wonder if Dallas is
13:19going to start clicking here on offense.
13:20Are they going to have enough to keep up with them?
13:22And so that was the first time I was like, all right, feeling like they're going to win this.
13:26It was probably the overshown pick is when I was like, done.
13:29When the overshown pick happened, I was like, all right, they're going to win this game.
13:32But, I mean, it's, again, they're putting it in these spots where it's 28-21 and you're just, all right,
13:39content to just roll the ball back out there and, you know, go ahead and punt on third down, essentially,
13:44and then kick the field goal to make it a 10-point game.
13:47It's like, all right, that's a lot of confidence for a defense that hasn't been playing well and in an
13:52offense that has gone long stretches.
13:55We're out of nowhere.
13:55It just can't move the ball.
